I'm a long-time hardcore player of WC3,personal favourite map/mod is DotA,also do a little epic maps,pm me sometimes,we'll get in touch,I accept DotA challenges,since I'm quite a player.

I borrowed it from a friend and played the vanila version for about a month, beat the campaign. Then i played the Gauntlet game mode a bunch before returning it. Fun game though.

I actually created a space mod for WC3 (oh so long ago)
and some guy took the concept and took it further when I ran out of steam
a year later. I was quite impressed how he did it too.
We had transparent tiles and star doodads that were randomly generated
so it actually looked like you were flying through space as you attacked
people. Add to that, using Vexorians JESP coding language we could create
spells (attacks like sniper rifle, mag cannons, rockets and etc)
without the memory leaks that so often plagued some other mods.
Had big bases made out of doodads and ships that were custom models.
Ahh. that was a fun time.

Problem with lots of doodads is it pumps the load time INCREDIBLY. One map that I tried to clean up had 11K + Doodads. Half of them you would see at no point whatsoever during the game.
DotA isn't that bad, although it's overplayed and means that most other maps don't get the chance to take off. Footman Frenzy... Oh my god. Depending on the version, best game evar.
And to all the people who seem to think that Melee is all there is to Warcraft, you havn't seen anything till you've tried out the custom games.
