Ok sorry didnt know it was exciting for the person filling out an application and for the police recipiant to send a message back to agree to cargo or a pob
From my experience I have deducted this.
@Lythrilux , show me where i am wrong. im just being honest at what I am seeing.

They can RP their sentence in real time and then either get some deal/bribe/bail to get out or they can escape using people like the xenos, rogues, or lane hackers. Also official.
The pilots arrested also get set up into a criminal record database and you get there the list of offences you committed and the total bounty on you etc etc.

The trick is that you need to give the player arrested a chance to get out of prison and not sit there for years. inRP or out of RP. That would suck for the RPer and the player would rather not get arrested as often. There needs to be many ways to get out of jail. The RPer should also get the opportunity to RP in the jail with other prisoners. Would be interesting RP and characters meeting together that would not usually meet. Police members would also ofc be allowed to regulate the interactions etc.

There are a lot of possibilities to this RP idea which can even include visits and stuff like that. Each prison by a faction could have it's different atmosphere to it as well. A liberty prison would exploit the characters to work force for instance.

Additionally, other systems could be community service and stuff like that, but for the sake of discussion, i have just included prisons/jails.

In all my time playing as LPI, both in 2013 and now that I lead the faction, I've only run into three people who actually wanted to be arrested. One was actually on LN, one never spoke to me or my son ever again after we arrested him, and one got killed by stray missiles after he surrendered.

Arrest RP is interesting, but it's so incredibly complicated to actually conduct that nobody actually wants to do it, especially if their beautiful characters are slaving away for actual, real years in a station like Huntsville that they can't really escape from, since it A) is a space station, B) is staffed by tons of LPI officers, C) is really close to a Navy battleship, D) has a bunch of bounty hunters on it to prevent escapes, and E) isolates prisoners.

It depends i guess on how immersive the player wants to go and at what pace. I do get, however, why people wouldnt want to surrender to an arrest though.
I've heard others as well though say they got a few arrests here and there, and it is more in line imo of an officer trying to take someone in alive rather than shooting and risking getting the guilty party dead.

What the issue is is that the player A) wouldnt want a criminal record or B) wouldnt want to stay locked up in a prison station that others say is impossible to escape.

But I however would like to challenge that.

You can escape through different ways:
A rogue cop that you bribe and he cleans your records, a lane hacker from the outside, an infiltrator specifically arrested to get you out, bails, supply transport escape etc etc. Hell you can even escape in a coffin i guess?

Lets not just jump to conclusions and say there is no possible way to escape. If done correctly, this could be really fun for BOTH sides that want to RP.

I guess you can say when you get into this situation then it can be like a RP puzzle thing.
If a player wants to opt out of the RP from 2nd thoughts, he should also be given the chance to do so.

Annnnnnnnnnd @nOmnomnOm account, please

If people want to do this, they will. Making all police factions create threads specifically designed for this, though, isn't the way to go about it, I think.

Anyway, I made a thread about this some time ago - you saw it yourself, where I described that this sort of interaction is not limited to what you described in the first part of your post. There is much more to that ID than that, really.

whatever. the point is the proposal mentioned
Thoughts?

Just fucking straight.

Sorry sindroms.

let's take a moment and think this through..what is the difference between loosing your ship on death and being in prison?i can tell you that right now...its easier/faster to gather the credits to buy a new one then actually wait to rp your way out..didnt you complain this week because you were waiting for another person to continue your rp..??

I personally like the idea of a jailing system and roleplay, but I think the rarity of it (criminals being caught and willing to participate in jail RP and then co-ordinate with other factions to let them out) kind of rules out the use of server mechanics. You're asking for a fair bit of work for something which I don't see as generally popular. Unless there is this new hotbed of RP?

Noted. (Those irony levels but.)
