RE: Ballistic Weapons for Capital Ships - Gagadug. - 05-29-2016 Looks nice on paper but I think it might make cruisers ( especially lighter ones) useless in battles since they are completely dependant on dodging against battleships. Its not like snubs and gbs because cruisers have a too slow turn rate and speed to evade the bulk of shots completely. Light Cruisers will be better than Heavy Cruisers, you need to be lucky to hit a Cruiser with your Battleship Heavy weapons or Cruisers can stay away from battleship and fire artillery/mortars from long range Currently Cruisers dodging all weapons except Secondaries/Razors Battleship Light Weapons will have less range(300-500m less) than Cruiser Main Turret and Heavy Turret If you are really good in Cruiser you can dodge most of the incoming projectiles Currently Light Cruisers are good vs Battleships Heavy Cruisers good at tanking other cruisers but very weak vs Battleships and it will be same with Ballistic weapons RE: Ballistic Weapons for Capital Ships - Gagadug. - 05-29-2016 Ye youre right but what I wanted to say is in fleet battles where multiple battleships can fire on a cruiser they can with those weapons build up kind of a "wall" of projectiles . Its already hard to survive that but then even more I think. For duels it will not change much I guess unless as said for newer players. RE: Ballistic Weapons for Capital Ships - wanderer95 - 05-30-2016 The gunnery chief from Mass Effect 2 and his shpeel on Newton's laws of physics comes to mind. Irp also let's you preform planetary bombardment. RE: Ballistic Weapons for Capital Ships - SnakeLancerHaven - 06-03-2016 I don't get it, why would it harm the "dodging" thing? Guys if you have spread, only 2 - 3 bullets out of 10 will hit probably, that wont cause alot of dmg as if you would hit with 10 at once. it's pretty much ballanced if you ask me even if you have hits, it'll take a longer than usualy. |
