RE: So a birdy came to my balcony to chill - Unlucky_Soul - 06-28-2016 Looks like a pigeon but like Machelvanius said... could be that It could have hit a glass or some reflective surface while flying. Birds tend to do that and they can get knock out (sort of ) or disoriented RE: So a birdy came to my balcony to chill - nOmnomnOm - 06-28-2016 (06-28-2016, 05:35 PM)Machelvanius Wrote: European Starling Canada... And the beak is black and long... So probably not a pigeon either. RE: So a birdy came to my balcony to chill - TheFreelancer - 06-28-2016 I couldn't tell you what kind of bird it is, I've helped a few injured birds before (Many of them were injured by my Cat, that little snake kills everything!), But none of them looked like that bird there, It seems like a relatively large bird anyways! Maybe you could just look up "species of birds in Canada" on wikipedia, and examine the pictures to find a similar looking bird (It takes time, but if you need/want to know what species of bird it is, It could help!) But im glad to hear its in good health! RE: So a birdy came to my balcony to chill - Tunicle - 06-28-2016 Does not really look like a Starling, juvenile something just fledgling by the look of it. A close up of the beak should help. Judging by the nut covers on the metalwork it does not look very big. RE: So a birdy came to my balcony to chill - HuggieSunrise - 06-28-2016 poor fellah. in the east coast us a friend of mine in nat wildlife and the park service are seeing alot of birds with breathing alements this summer. Wood Pigeon Juvenile / Adult Hen Mom said an adult male came and they were pecking furiously with one another... soooooooo yeah Lets hope no nest appears. Gonna read up on it: http://www.pigeonrescue.co.uk/thewoodpigeon.htm PS: Apparently pigeon poop makes for a great fertilizer! It's quite the experience.
