"So, apparently I get excited over a misreading of a contract. Planet Honshu needs me to move two thousand robocultivers, not twenty. Still, I'll do the run. I'm a little disappointed."

"However, I've got some great news. First, I finished off all my contracts. And second, this Delgado gentlemen got me the information I was looking for on Sorrontis. He'll be so thrilled."

"What else happened today?"

Balados thinks for a while...

"I guess it wasn't as much of an exciting flight as yesterday. Maybe tomorrow will yield a more interesting quest. Maybe I'll travel to Rheinland, maybe I could find some information about Sorrontis' parents there."

"Well, that'll be tomorrow. Today is the 14th of July. Yay!"

"Welcome to another beautiful day! It makes me happy when everything goes as planned. I finally delivered that haul of diamonds I got from Solitarie Metropolis. Oh boy was that ever a pay day. I'll have to make another run. And talking about Solitaire Metropolis, that Hamann guy seems genuinely interested in doing some shipping with me. I really hope he hires me."

"I've done a few more runs today, gave the mechanic a run at the helm while I upgrade the ships systems. It takes a long time to do such things. It'll probably take a few days to get it all set up. At least the comms system is working, but the encryption is a little wonky. There's still so much I need to do before I'm a bonafide freighter captain."

"Maybe one day, I'll introduce you to my two crew members, but that day is not this day. They're busy, lots of Dragons and Flower Boys trying to stop our shipment of basic alloys."

"I think that's all for today, we're almost to Planet Honshu. We'll be settling down for the night here. I know the boys will like that. It's July 18th, 823. And good night dear listeners."

"What another beautiful day!"

Balados stretches while yawning.

"I've been working full time on getting this damn comms terminal interface upgraded, but it keep reverting to the old basic one. I'll probably have to replace the entire unit. Again. At least, however, I made some money running goods like basic alloys and fertilizers."

"Also, I met this new businessman, Alex Wolf. The guy has six kids, or so he says. Insane. No wonder he's doing work as a miner. We talked a little, seemed nice. We might do some business, he'll blow up rocks, and I'll move the junk. We'll need to talk about how to split the profits. God I love money!"

Balados yawns again.

"Wow, I'm tired. Long day I guess. I might as well call this a night. I'll figure out what's going on with the comms some time this week. It's July 19th, and good night!"

"Ah! Look at the date! I haven't made a log in over three days! What... What have I been doing?"

Balados stops to think, eats a glob of synth paste.

"God this stuff is disgusting. I miss moms garden grown tomatoes. Who the heck ever though this was better? And now it's everywhere."

"Anyways, as to what I've been doing... that's work. I've been working, shipping everyday. I moved some basic alloys and drill bits. nothing really special. But, I did get one special order... PLATINUM! It's so shiny. And no, I didn't keep any for myself, I'm not dumb. That stuff's heavy and so shiny. And now, this morning, I go back to boring freight. I was loaded with radioactive waste at Severn."

"In other news, I started my work with BMF. I did four runs, didn't realize they were so short. I'll can probably do many more runs than negotiated. I'll have to talk to them at the end of the week once everything is over. I met a few more pilots on my runs. Interesting people out there. Well, that's it for today. I'll probably finish my waste run tonight, and then go to bed."

"For July 23rd, 823, I'm out!"

"What a nice day today way... Mostly. It started well. Finished a few freight runs, and then I bought my Mastodon. I'm ready to take the freight world by storm."

"I'm starting to realize that the freight world is not as fun as I thought it'd be."

Balados shakes his head.

"Not fun. I should say.... exciting. Most of my time, I just fly around with the crew, moving this and that from here and there. Maybe that's a good thing. Less chance of getting shot down I guess. Maybe one day I'll take a route that'll bring me to the neutral systems, like Tau or Omega."

"Well, that's it for July 22nd. I don't know if I'll make many more logs. Unless something interesting happens."
