I know the Coalition one is electric purple. FL/Merc/Civi are white. Pirate is red. Liberty is blue. Bretonian is....white i think. And same with kusari. Traders are usually white.

BAF, Junkers, Zoners and miners have yellow-orange beam colours...now, if you can explain the connection between those factions, you're better than me...

I ever though that it has been chosen to fit with the colour of the ships and guns(Daito). Well, and I think red is also the first association when thinking of the Blood Dragons.

They were just chosen because it was probably the colour that first came to mind when the modders created the IDs. There doesn't really need to be a link between them all.

It's not a big deal in any sense, but it's nice to speculate something like this instead of bickering which has been on the rise in the forums lately.
And have there been any logic when the ID creators picked the color or were they just assigned without any deeper thought?
If not then maybe 4.85 could have some logic behind them.

I don't believe there was much sense to the color designation.
There were only a few different scanner types and the scanners
were renamed into different type of id's hence the shared colors
So all the different ID's out there are limited to the original color
of the different scanners. Seems to be my logical take on it.
