Well it takes a while to missionwhore up a cap 6 armor -.- ill flip if ill need to missionwhore up two gbs, a cruiser a bomber and a fighter in a starflea.

eh...don't throw the thread out just yet. What I'd like to know is if Battleship owners are going to be reimbursed if their craft needs to be repurchased? Because I have a faction with two, possibly three, ships that are going to need some love, and a single IND, no matter how filthy rich he can potentially be, can't foot the bill by himself.

I believe this was answered-but-not-officially awhile back, and the answer was no, and that people could continue to use their ships even with a inferior powerplant. But maybe that not-official answer was incorrect.

I am doing a major change in my rep in 4.85, and my ship, So, If you see [RNC]Aachen not in any rhienland system (ill be going through munich, Sigma 17, Omicron Theta, Omicron 74) during the early hours of 4.85 coming out, Dont panic and for god sakes dont pm me. By the way, 400 Million + 230m Resale of RBS + Battleship Lisence switcheroo = enough for a new battleship????

to have the latest updates, as in real life, you will have to pay for them ...
We have never given out cash in the past, apart from the battleship licensing, and I know we are not going to
start now.

If a ship's powerplant etc. is reduced... don't you HAVE to replace it ASAP for fairness of the mod, should you not be reimbursed if you are forced to rebuy a ship?

You will only have to rebuy your ship if the powerplant has changed and you want to take advantage of that change.
Explanation:
The Powerplant of a vessel is specific to that ship/model.
It has been made buyable and tradeable etc like other equipment in most mods except for Discovery (IE like armour upgrades)
It is automatically included in the ship price when you buy a new one and is transfered over automatically.
The NEW powerplants will be on the sellable ships.
YOUR ship will not have the new one as it bought the 'old' powerplant.
Basically a good few ships will now come with a better powerplant when you buy them. If you want it, you will need to buy the ship, even if you already have the same (In all but the powerplant) one.

Sorry but we did not choose to buy a nerfed ship. We chose to buy the ship that was in the mod. We chose our ships based on what they were like in the mod, this now can change everything. Personally I know I prefer to be out RPing then flying a tradeship around.... so for alot of people, re-buying the ship may not be an option.
So yeah, what happens to say a ship where it can no longer fire its guns? Big problem.. someones whole RP is going to get ruined over the change.
Anyhow... that said, if any ships I own get their powercore nerfed, I wont be re-buying em, and will keep the good powercore.
