I would stay away from the Order cerberus turrets. I have a Kusari Explorer myself named Wayfarer and have been using the basic turrets. Maybe you can also use the solaris cannons as well as I just switched to them. Anyways, about the armor upgrades, you can use the universal fighter armor upgrades, or go with the capital armor upgrades. The VIII fighter armor upgrade is the 2,5 while the (IV?) also has the 2,5 but it just takes up more space.

thanks for the info so the cerberus are a no, what is the solaris? and is it sold where you can purchase the explorer?
Edit: i got a zoner i.d. now - i thought it would fit best as they have no enemies - good for exploring, plus they are allied with gmg which explains where i got the ship, plus i can just equip the cerberus turrets straight away, everything fits!

Yeah, I wouldn't touch the Order weapons. The regular Cerberus are alright I believe. The Solaris cannons are also sold on Zoner bases.. the freeport in Delta I think sells them although I would ask someone else as well just to make sure.

I got an Kusari Explorer as well with Freelancer ID and no IFF (Might work for the Freelancer IFF, if I can be bothered...). Got kicked out of Bretonia rather fast due to my Kusarian name Nagamassa, heh. Even the SCRA didn't kill me after they caught me sneaking around their system.
I use Solaris and Zoner turrets as well, trying not to upset anyone as I pass by them in my travels. As for cargo I only have a few basic commodities and crew members, been picking up "souvenirs" though, wherever I may visit. I also use the Capital Armor with x3 hull. It's a bit more expensive than Capital Armor x2.5, but it can be useful when you get surrounded by Guard NPC's, hihi.
As for bribes, I got the Junker and Zoner ones, as that set me straight with most of the pirate factions around Sirius, except for GC and Xenos, and maybe Unioners...
If you're friendly enough, most people will let you go by your business.

The Universal Armor upgrades are for Fighters, Bombers, Gunboats, and the Capital upgrades are for crusiers and bigger (at least how i see it)

thanks for the tips people i'll get the regular cerberus turrets and look for solaris ones on zoner bases, can i get a junker bribe at any junker base? right now i believe corsairs are the only ones hostile towards me as i already have a zoner bribe.
