i think ive found a lagger - onca - 09-01-2006 DarkOddity,Sep 1 2006, 04:14 PM Wrote:<snip>I run one train through asteroid field... one more train trailing 10 Kilometers behind... asteroids stay in exact same pattern.<snip> Yep just what I was saying..... if the server has to keep track of every asteroid, then its gonna pound both the server and/or your internet connection when you're in an asteroid field. That's when the lag comes in. o. i think ive found a lagger - Virus - 09-01-2006 Nah. I believe EVERY asteriod has an EXACT place in space that it is. Every asteroid field is saved to your hard drive so the server doesn't have to deal with it. :) i think ive found a lagger - DarkOddity - 09-01-2006 Well duh! :P EDIT: Virus,Sep 1 2006, 12:27 AM Wrote:Nah. I know i wouldent so personaly i dont mind if theres a few extra gig's as you put it if it speeds the game up :P i think ive found a lagger - Igiss - 09-01-2006 Asteroid field is handled like a zone in Freelancer, the game knows which asteroids to put there, what should be the distance, rotation, alignment etc. No one ever placed those asteroids statis, it's complete nonsence. Myriads of objects... no game could handle that. |
