You know, if this were around when I had BPA)Greg.Vederman running around (Basically a satire after he left US PCG), it would've been much easier to integrate a Libertonian into the BPA. Man, would that have been kewl. Agiera ain't got nothin' on the exchange system.

Interpol - looqas - 01-15-2009

I don't think it's workable.

You have to remember that while this is a role playing server and would provide a very interesting side-story we have to remember that majority of the players never visit forums and are totally in the dark why your copper is exercising his mandate in another house.

At the moment there is no game mechanics to support this idea or give a hint to the casual player what this is all about. In perfect world he would of course be curious about your mission, but he's most likely to draw a conclusion that it's ok to fly the ship you are flying and do what you are doing.

Interpol - Tenacity - 01-15-2009

I think the best route for this would be to make an interpol "faction", which uses civilian/borderworlds ships - maybe house police ships can be considered - and uses the military or vigilante ID with a generic police tag (I think all the police factions just show "police" for the tag in-game).

This faction could operate in the borderworlds systems which are considered outside of house military/police jurisdiction. This includes places like bering, magellan, cortez, hudson, galileo, kepler, etc.

Would be a fun faction I think, being able to operate as true lawfuls in non-defined territory, instead of having to go with bounty hunters in order to work in those areas.

Reread the thread, specifically Zapp's second post. If an LPI guy went to the BPA for a while, he'd be doing so in a Hussar with BPA ID and IFF... In-game, not much would look different other than some interactions.

My bad. Sorry. Kinda read the thread in a hurry.

Actually, Tenacity, Magellan and Cortez are joint Protectorates of the Republic of Liberty and the Kingdom of Bretonia, and can be patrolled by the Military of either house.

For the other border systems, though, this might not be a bad idea. I really like the idea of a shared database.

Interpol - hack - 01-15-2009

I think the main thrust was to share info between the existing Police Forces, and set up a joint bounty board.

Often when a perp has fled Liberty and I have an inkling of where he is going, I have used the "Interpol" frequencies to fore warn the next Police Department that trouble is headed their way. Having done this, I have also rcvd these "Interpol" calls.....

So for the info sharing part, I am all for it. The exchange officers can be worked out later.

Interpol - hribek - 01-16-2009

I like this idea.

But I don't like some of the responses, because I don't want new factions, new ships, new IDs.

Yes. Make the police share info and deal with crime. At least there will be someone not caught in all the politics, wars and other nonsense.

Interpol - Turkish - 01-16-2009

Explain to me how Liberty and Rheinland would both be in a cooperative organisation when they're about to tear each other's throat out?

Interpol - BaconSoda - 01-16-2009

Well, if you look at it not from a nation's perspective, but form a person's perspective, not everyone would hate Rheinland. There would be a certain sect of every nation that doesn't agree with the war-mongering ways of the nation. Look at Gateway in Bretonia. We oppose the war completely because it almost entirely cuts off the lifeline of our closest ally, the IMG. It's the same way, only with coppers. Some would agree, some wouldn't.
