Data Upload - File 3.29.825A.S. - Entry 13: Delta

Had to make an emergency trip back down to Delta, but the way for Nodoka looked clear. The Overwatch got jumpy again with Alesia again trying to make good on her intentions to run a Freeport. Again, I'd have wished her luck but, frankly, I didn't even have time to do that.

'lanski and those dogs got around to her before I could do much. Coalition, too. Seems even they aren't immune to the lies.

I'm pulling out all the stops. The sods want to poke at the defense force, that's fine. You hurt someone dear to me, and I'll tear that damn smug smile off his face and hang it on a wall.
I'm going to make them pay for this. Every single one of them, and I'm not resting until that bastard's head is sitting on a pike on the front of Fort Carthage.

God have mercy on him, because I sure as hell won't.

Hoo, boy.. this is gonna be a good update.

We left Delta behind.. again.. I'm contemplating sending a message to Alesia to see if she's doing okay after the extension got bombarded, but frankly I'd rather give her a day or two before I go sending things like that. I took the Ahkmim back out to Rheinland, holing up the Bundschuh there on Bruchsal for a short while. Afterwards, we dove into the Westerwald on the west end of the system, where we surprisingly met up with Honya. A shame she didn't get to help defend the extension, but then again it would've spared her the grief.

She accompanied us into the cloud, the same minefield from back-when still there. Couldn't get a reading inside, though, but it's nice to know the Rheinlanders are still using alien tech for their own good. Afterwards we went on the rather lengthy trip from Frankfurt to Inverness, Honya and I chatting along the way, even giving me a decent idea for a Ahkmim rename.. since the name's already known.. Montu would both be more fitting and would give the old girl more camo to hide behind.

Once we arrived in Inverness, Nodoka and I had a chat after we dropped of Honya. Seems she's really going all in with this endeavor of hers, and frankly I wish her luck. A ship like that's just screaming for attention.

I'll connect the black-box logs, since I know Kryn reads these... and I know you love reading the old logs after I delete them, don't you Kryn?

Data Upload - File 4.29.825A.S. - Entry 14: Cultists and Separatists

Almost a month since the last update. Things got fairly hairy, but nothing the girl couldn't handle.

After a few hours of fiddling with the ship's transponder, Kryn and I, with a little help from Honya, got the Ahkmim's registry to display the new ident tags. 'Montu'. Fitting, and stylish.

Mostly been hunkering for the last month, tagging along with Auxo routes and patrols, investigating any possible infestee clues or the odd happening. The apparent Cultist menace which keeps popping up apparently made it's mark in Tau-117 last week. The girl's first piece of real action since the name change. Seemed they were trying to operate in the area, a staging point or something. It didn't really get far until Auxo, the Montu and even Kalh showed up. A damn shame, but hey. Auxo does what Auxo wants.

Also had a talk with some of those separatist guys. Well, one of them. Other was some freelancer. They didn't say much, but definitely seemed adamant about the Navy and LSF being infected. Was proven even more when some LSF pilot showed up.
Didn't make much sense to take action, at least until that Order guy got involved. Shame about him, but he gets his paychecks from 'lanski, so it was probably best to put him out of his misery.

Since then, things've been pretty quiet. Going to keep an ear open in case John picks up something. Bretonia's contemplating, but I'm hoping John picks up something.

Been a waiting game really, but at least it's finally happened.
Kalh's out of Liberty. Ever since his release, I've been waiting for the actual changes, but it seems Liberty finally gave him the boot. A shame, really, since if what these seps are saying, he might've been their last hope.

Commandeered a repair ship from Kryn today as well. A 'beneficiary' present, though frankly she holds more sway with the crew than I do. I've set it over (because yes, it is remotely controlled) Kalh's way, since he'll probably get more use out of it than I will. Just means that either myself or Kryn will have to be at the helm of it's remote if it's to work. Sucks, but eh. Could be worse.

I'm going to try sending these separatists a comm, maybe today, maybe tomorrow. If Kalh's working with them, than they honestly can't be that bad. Until then, I guess it's business as usual.

An interesting day, frankly. The Liberty Navy sure knows how to host a party.
Tried to work out a few things with Kalh about our next moves, and we get reports of a large Naval incursion force bowling towards the Freeport. Now, I'm not entirely convinced it wasn't some blatant show of force, but the fact that they rolled up to the station with capital ships galore only showed that they weren't all right in the head.

Kalh and I, as well as what Unioner and Seps there were, had to fall back, eventually ending up far from the station.
Funnily enough, on the near horizon he pointed out a small 'Bustard'-shaped thing sitting out in the field. Upon close inspection, we noticed it was another one of those cultist ships, though it seemed this one had only recently arrived, not yet defended completely.. also seemed to have taken a small bit of damage, probably from the Unioners.

Regardless, the Harmony showed up, and with the combined firepower of three heavily armed and armored warships, the poor thing was torn the shreds.
Sucks for them, but hey. Neat gubs to be had.

Kalh had an idea. Now, granted I helped, but really I guess it's all him these days.
In light of the Order's continuing impetuous rampage, we've since left Bering. I always thought as a rule of thumb that if the Core's there, the Order's not far behind, and the last thing I need is not only 'lanski's dim-witted subjects breathing down my neck, but Harmony and the Union chastising Kalh and I for bringing a ruthless dictator to their front door.

Kepler looks out of the way, and while, yes, it is dark as 'lanski's skull interior, I got a good feeling here. Nebulas for cover, Ames for supplies, and if they ever get antsy about us, we'll just drop the 'it's better than dealing with Golanski' line too.
Perfect storm.

Best hope though is that, for both ours and their sake, that we get respite from everything, time to grow, rethink our strategy and push back.
I admit it sounds kind of weird, but there's other people using weirder names. Sirius is like this these days anyway, so it's not really out of place.

Guess I'll cut it here. Things to do, people to talk to.

A short update, but it's worth it.

I met an Overwatch captain in Bering yesterday, some self-righteous brat still thinking they're the people's holy crusaders. Spent a good few minutes lecturing them on the educational value of having a pair of working eyes, not to mention a valid Neural Net address, and I'm frankly going to post it here so I can keep entertaining myself.

This stuff is just too rich.

Been a solid week, and then some, since my last update. I've been hanging around the Freeport in Bering, chatting with the locals and helping Kalh whenever he gets shot at, since the guy's like one massive retard magnet.
It hasn't all been about him, though. I have seen those Coalition battlecruisers that do tend to pop up every now and then. The cannons on those things.. whew. Heavy, and brought a thought to my head.

The Montu's not going to be hauling any fighters anytime soon, and my fighter's not really small enough to fit in the launching silo anyway. Maybe I can retrofit the ship with a couple forward guns. Would give me an edge over literally any other ship, except the obvious.. but still. Imagine, the look on 'lanski's face when I'm barreling in, gunning his idiots down and smashing his windows in with even more firepower than just mortars.
Would probably eat up the drive core's power, though.. wonder how much I can do to the Montu to make her feel like the most badass warship in the Colonies..

Heh.
I love this ship.

Data Upload - File 5.30.825A.S. - Entry 20: Rheinland

Maybe not the greatest plan in existence, but Kalh and I went through Rheinland today. Didn't really have any reason for him, but I need to tally up their readiness level, like I do with every house.. or at least, try to. Didn't get everything mapped, though, so I'll need to head back in with the cloak up and nab the rest of them.

From what I could tell, they're fairly well set. Their warships are sturdy, tough. That same Rheinland twang to them that gives Gallic Valors a run for their money. Only thing that went south really was that Buro Director's insistence that we leave. Joke's on him, but maybe I'm being too rude. He is doing his job, even if it means impeding his own progress.

We scanned up the rest of the systems, logged what we could before heading back to Bering. I've got the logged images so far, but as I said we're going to be heading back out tomorrow to get another good, more detailed look. Kalh's overcaution is too impedious for my style sometimes.

We won't get caught.
I know we won't.

Trust me.

Data Upload - File 7.09.825A.S. - Entry 21: Kalh, Kusari and the Big Leagues

I'll be honest here, which since it's a personal log means very, very honest.

I'm personally not seeing why I teamed up with Kalh anymore. I can see the overall arching goal, and his ship being a good tool versus the glamorously shiny forces of evil, but lately it's just not beaming to me why I'm keeping tabs with him.
He always seems to be looking for some reason to get at Liberty, which, I'll post here (since it is a personal log), I never had any intention of shooting. The folks I meet don't seem bothered, and even the simple things like their actions against both myself and him seems warranted as more than just 'oh, these two shoot infected, they wanna purge me!'

I had Kryn do a lap of Kusari for readiness checks. They don't seem nearly as well prepared as Rheinland did, but I suppose that's understandable as I'm fairly certain they got absolutely hammered by those dirks up north. I'll send them a communication seeing if they'll accept support from the Montu. No doubt they're in no position to refuse. If they do, then I'll attribute it to rational human stubbornness.

Honestly, with how things are going these days (and they seem to be going pretty crap), things are looking up. Aside from Kalh. God knows what goes through that knucklehead's... head.. Still. He's not infected, vowed to shoot 'em, and as far as I'm aware isn't insane.. yet.

Who know's. Maybe I'm completely out of my rocker. One thing's for damn sure.

If the squids get me, Humanity's doomed.
