I know that this is in flood and a joke but you guys do realise that this is possible? Nerva joins BD and a clan, gets either popular support or shogunate support. Either gets promoted or takes the title of Daimyo by force, by activating any of the conquest events I've posted, then as daimyo of his own clan expands his influence over the other Daimyos and they collectively veto out the hideyoshis.

We have made all of that possible with the new way BD| works, it sure as hell wouldn't be easy going from recruit to shogun but it certainly isn't impossible.
