It's not really like that.
In Croatia we speak Croatian, Croatian language is one of the official languages of the EU. That's what they taught me in school anyways.
I would suggest other languages to be added so there are no confusions.

English, German, a bit of Italian, a bit of Scandinavian (Swedish and Danish).
(I once managed to improvise enough French to get on the correct airport shuttle from Brussels, but that's as far as it stretches. And I can ask where the bathroom is in Japanese (it's important to learn some useful phrases). Don't ask me about Dutch, Latin, Anglo-Saxon, or Old Norse.
