Ensemble Studios to close after Halo Wars release - Jwnantze - 02-02-2009 Yep, I played and still play all three AoE games + Expacks. Very sad news indeed. Ensemble Studios to close after Halo Wars release - Saigo.Watanabe - 02-02-2009 a shame indeed. I, like a few other people here by the looks of it, grew up on aoe, Aoe2 ftw indeed. Talking of which i need to start playing that again, hm. Aoe2 game anyone? Ensemble Studios to close after Halo Wars release - McNeo - 02-02-2009 Microsoft fail yet again. AoE II was one of the best games I've ever played. The only thing that could possibly be construed as unbalanced was Persian War Elephants, and even they were beaten to death by a combo of 1/3 Bombard cannons and 2/3 Siege onagers. Well, at the expense of most of the artillery anyway. I remember some epic AoE II games I had in this boarding house. 60 trade carts, 40 food villagers and 20 wood villagers (after all stone and gold deposits were gone), with the rest being paladins. Paladins or Seige Onager/Bombard cannon combo. Too bad Big business gets in the way of truely epic creations. Freelancer, AoX titles among some of the examples. Oh well.
