[url] tags attach a link to whatever is between them. If it's text, they attach a link to that text, if it's an image, like in your example, they attach a link to that image.

EDIT: Perhaps this would also be a bit helpful for you to understand what [url] actually does: https://discoverygc.com/forums/misc.php?action=help&hid=7

but as a thumbnail to click on?

Is the solution in which you never exceed the forum rule limit.

(unless the image is in a signature and >1MB - using the imgur server-side scaling options detailed in this thread should be good for that)

Edit: Guys, please stop conflating linking with the discussion over image size.
Edit2: Hi alex

Question. Can I use so-called "text wrap"? For example, I want an image to appear on the left side and write some text next to it.

RE: Easy image posting on Disco forum - Rogue - 01-31-2019

Yes, you can. Use the [float=right/left ] [/float ] commands (without the spacings).

Example:

Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test Test test test test
