RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - MotokoSusu - 05-02-2018 well i am not going to vote but imo the PoB in the mining zone are becoming a salty issue and it always the same group grabbing the pitch forks and singing the same tune. may god all i see is it kills RP with the PoBs in the zones . i think the pirates are doing a pretty good job of killing the RP themselves with the lack of imagination and 5 sec 4 word RP. that should be a bigger issue to address then a few PoB's. ONLY met one pirate that was worth they salt and was fun to rp with was in Kusari space the guy actually made it where you did not mind giving the money. RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Thyrzul - 05-02-2018 What if PoB construction would also start with a required investment of 100mil credits - perhaps in the form of a special commodity or something -, just like core upgrades themselves? You can then siege the remaining few mining field bases and those spamming them would then think twice if they really want to spend more cash on them.
I'm not voting, because I agree with the motive, but disagree with the proposed solution. I'd rather try to look for game mechanic alternatives before turning to more and more rules, especially when we also have reoccuring complaints about too much rules throughout the years. RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Lythrilux - 05-02-2018 Is that really a good idea with Discovery's current economy though? 100 million is nothing if you're not a newbie. RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - buzzlightyear - 05-02-2018 Honestly most of the ln pirates afk camp gates....and thats about it... RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - LaWey - 05-02-2018 Agreed with motoko about pirates, but this issues both from traders and pirates sides. Also, about PoBs preventing pirating, im laugh when saw last RP around Veltman Smelter. I'm didnt saw outcasts or rogues or hackers pirating in Texas even without PoB, they all just sit in NY. About theme - Yes, but only after reworking mining system. We have not peoples for working ore economy by another ways. There needed some another things, like big volume mining ship to replace PoB role in mining field. What happened? It reads: Quote:. - Bases located within 15k of mining fields will not be permitted to advance beyond Core 2.i.e., core 1 and core 2 are allowed within 15k of mining fields currently. RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Starsunder - 05-02-2018 A PoB close to a mining field for storage purposes and a fall back point makes sense. A PoB within a mining field or near a NPC base or near a jump hole/gate tends to end up being a nuisance most of the time. Granted, inRP rules and consequences generally means these bases do not last long, but to remove such a base takes time and resources. It would be much easier if it could be made a rule and an admin do an instant removal. That said, I do not support an outright ban, but rather an application process be made so that exceptions can still be allowed (and base sieging taken care of in the usual manner). First it was me and jack, but now it's me, Jack, and Lyth all agreeing on something... The sky turned red the day I returned. Pun 100% intended. Also my opinion on this should be obvious. RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Omi - 05-02-2018 I'm voting no just to be different RE: Poll - POBs and Mining Areas - Wesker - 05-02-2018 (05-02-2018, 06:17 PM)Omicega Wrote: I'm voting no just to be different Hi Omicega |
