' Wrote:I have never seen a Hacker operate out of that neck of the woods, chiefly due to the lack of good times trade in the region, so Galileo would definitely be a ticket.

Second option would be Ouray.

Phnar phnar phnar.

well, my hacker aint exactly a run of the mill hacker... he isnt concerned with pirating traders at all, he wants revenge against ageiraberty, more of a terroristic sort. I probably wont do any pirating with the character, just attacks against Liberty military or corporate targets.

Question @ lane hackers - Drake - 02-11-2009

Your Hacker is sounding a lot like my Hacker (though mine is less a true Lane Hacker, and has no particular grudge against Ageira, more Liberty in general). Xavier had himself a Liberty Cruiser, before my characters got wiped a year+ ago. I have no plans to actually remake the cruiser character, but in RP terms it's his base of operations, hidden somewhere deep within the Barrier. He uses a collection of neurally-controlled drones to scout, collect supplies and research material/subjects, and run terrorist operations within Liberty. I figured a cruiser has enough room for a single man and a handful of assistant robots to set up shop.

Question @ lane hackers - Orin - 02-11-2009

I would just RP a base that does not actually exist in the game. Bermuda Depot or something, just as your own creation, in your own story. That allows for the best RP opportunity, as places like Leiden and others are known Hacker bases, not one man operations.

Just because you can't see it in game doesn't mean it's not there. Sirius is a big place.

then i just need to actually base my character somewhere for repair/resupply =P

@ Drake - perhaps the two could work together somewhat. My hacker was working on a project in alaska while under the employ of ageira (researching a captured harvester drone), he took some of the research files with him when he made his escape after ageira tried to have him killed. Could work in that you have the facilities and resources to help my character produce the drones he needs, perhaps.

I may end up just basing my character from the rogue destroyer in liberty, as far as having a place to dock.

Well, if he's a Hacker, whether or not he's a loner, he would obviously resupply on Hacker and Hacker ally bases. Leiden, Alcatraz, Mactan, Montezuma, etc. Wherever he is near.

well the character himself doesnt actually ever leave his base of operations... or wont, once he gets the first drone built. He sends the drones out to make attacks on liberty/ageira, and to retrieve supplies for his own use. Much safer and 'scarier' working from the shadows with remote fighters.

But, game mechanics wise, I have to have some place to dock =/

We might be able to work something out. Xavier was a genius scientist (and sociopath) working in the R&D division of an unnamed Libertonian organization (private or government, or more likely a joint operation). He remains the only Disco character I've really written any story for, yet I've never actually played him (beyond repping his cruiser back in 4.83). I had planned on continuing his forum story, but never got around to it. http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8739&

I hate that base. A pain to dock on. And I think my Werewolf is thicker than it is...

Shouldnt be too difficult for the harvester SHF, according to jinx its about the same size as a nomad assassin.

Question @ lane hackers - Cellulanus - 02-12-2009

Well, the base that would perfectly fit would be that BD base you encounter on your way to tekagies base in SP, no NPCs to be found in or around that base.

Location however might be a problem.
