There really ought be some sort of rule in place about third parties not participating unless mind controlled or whatever.

Spontaneous encounters with traders are rare nowadays. They're even rarer with non-ore commodities, let alone the few commodities listed which people don't have a reason to haul randomly. It's like searching for a needle in a haystack. I wouldn't be surprised we're left with no choice other than to contact our friendly sources, but we'll give it time. If that happens however, we'll most likely organize an event of its own where the transportation of goods will be executed by our ships, not third parties'.
