A few days back I gave a guy who was flying a patriot in Leeds a 3million dollar start-up. I made him promise that he'd
a) Register on the forums
b) Read the rules
c) Buy an armoured transport and start trading
Fingers crossed that he doesn't turn into one of... them.

Gah, the same thing happened to me here... little starflea was being ganked by a patriot outside 'hatten, and so i meat-sheilded him until he could get away. Showed him where to mine, where the ships were, where the first trade run is....
and then someone lent him 70mil for a whale - next day he's in a @sair GB, chasing me all the way from sig17 to cambs wailing 'you gotta stop and pay me!' Yep - four systems, chasing my firefly. Lost count of the number of times i managed to hit cruise and escape. He's then sat outside - literally - cambs research station, with the base paying him no nevermind... ah well, just another day in the life of an rp trader...
Since that day, I only hand out advice, never credits.

Well, I have to say that I'm turning into half of one of "them". Someone gave me 5mill for my Transport. I'm using him to fund an Outcast bomber. I'm not a fan of capships.. I honestly think they should be removed.

We just hope our "contributions" will fund RP efforts.
I just got blown up by a Neutral IFF, Outcast ID'd Bretonia Gunboat in Sigma-13 with no engagement notice. There is no way he traded up from a flea to a gunboat without ever reading the rules. Someone gave him money for that thing. It's a vicious risk giving out money!

Before I ever give out money, I make sure that they're trustworthy. I bring them on some trade routes with me. I don't just give them a lolipop, a check, and boot them out the door.
And, I just hate getting blown up by Unlawful (even lawful ships, on occasion.) capships for some reason or another.
