Due to the following factors, the event was a bit of a curb-stomp:
- only half the expected UN showed up than expected due to a combination of unexpected RL factors.
- Not many RHA could show up as were factored for in the ballance decisions.
- A few RHA members logged RWK instead.
- On-site team balance wasn't done on the lawful side.
This meant that the transports being able to shoot but not be targeted, instead of being a fun gameplay handicap where it was expected there would be a strong unlawful side, turned into a massive pain in the ass.
I strongly encourage Rheinland lawfuls to also make Rheinland Unlawfuls so balancing can be done in cases like this. I'm happy to give out ships if needed.
I'll use what I've learned here to try to make future events that arn't stomps.

I couldn't quite gather how many people the unlawful side had to compared to the lawful one. I disengaged Salmin when I saw we were 4 people on him and instead 1v1'd someone else. I am pretty sure this would have gone a lot better if it was a signup event.
And nobody from RHA logged RMK instead, it was me and Thielau, well, technically, I am in RHA, don't tell Wesker.

Yeah.
A lot of people don't want to bother with slotting and signing up, or don't read the event section of the forums and want to join in anyway. I was trying to reach those players. Field-ballasting probably could have achieved the same effect.

Allowing everyone to simply log makes gathering players easier, sure. But it also pre-ensures chaos because you cannot balance it, not properly at least. I think it was expectable.

Not sure if this is correct, but at some point while the event was being set up I counted 8 people in the unlawful group and 9 snubs on the lawful side (i.e. not counting the transports). Maybe the difference was bigger when the fight began, but I remember a lot of unlawful ships blowing up very early in the fight to instakill torps / nukes, which must have shifted the numbers in favor of the lawful side.

Uh, where exactly is it written that people have to log RHA for your event and, cannot decide whether they log RHA or RM? It is their own right to decide if they want to log RHA or not.
I don't know who logged for RHA and, I also don't want to know since making an event without pre-registration and counting on people balancing the event themselves is pretty dumb in my record since it will never work. Don't blame it on others if you make issues, people can do what they want if you force them to log they won't log at all.

Reihl, Republican Shipping will be open to more events, so we can always give this another go. Seeing we are enemies it would be only natural to have altercations. In today's event, RS got lucky.
I hope next time, luck is more on your side and that things are more balanced.
