Pirates Killing After Pirating - Seth Karlo - 02-23-2009 This happened to me when I first joined the server. Second day here, and a Xeno Terrorist ID'd person charged me everything I had (I was in a fighter...with civilian ID) then shot me anyway. I respawned, he shot me again. It's why I never made an unlawful. Ah well, enough about me, I say no, if they've paid, why would they kill them? Why not get more money from them next time? Pirates Killing After Pirating - Weedalot - 02-23-2009 Well yea its in the rules. You cannot do it. And why would you do it. it will just ruin someone else's fun, as much as trading can be fun. Pirates Killing After Pirating - Tomtomrawr - 02-23-2009 Although the basic idea is fully with-in rp, i voted a big NO as then pirate activity would increase everywhere, and nobody would be able to make money, at least, it would be very hard and time consuming to avoid each and every one of the pirates. Pirates Killing After Pirating - Rudo - 02-23-2009 It'd just generate animosity all over the place and things would get personal. Seriously, this is pvp abuse to the nth degree. Worst thing I ever did to a trader as a pirate, he kept trying to cruise and refused to roleplay or acknowledge my request. About 25 disruptions in, I finally get 'kill me (expletitive)'. He swore at me, and something just sort of snapped. I didn't kill him, but I did destroy some turrets and and his shield. I didn't see a suicide message so I'm assuming he dropped off his cargo. Pirates Killing After Pirating - Reverend Del - 02-23-2009 Let me make this clear. No you cannot. It's sanctionable under the PVP abuse rules. Bah, I don't pirate for profit. I'll just as soon tell someone trading Optronics to either pay me a couple mil to let him live, or contribute 50 of his product for black-market reverse engineering for the sake of counterfeiting. This leads to great RP if the trader is worth his salt. I also don't sit on popular routes. Unknown to most people, I do allow piracy in the Junkers Congress and occasionally partake in my Pirate Transport. I just do it on an extremely limited, prudent scale -- no blockades, no hitting legal trade unless they're clearly using shady means to deliver their cargo. A trader running Beryllium to New Berlin? Way off limits, reprecussions are too severe. A blank IFF, Trader ID Adv. Train coming through Bering with Cardamine? The Junkers will take their share one way or another. EDIT: And yeah, Weed. People have to learn one way or another. If killing them teaches them nothing because the penalty is too light, enact a stiffer penalty. I understood/understand that it's against rules, was just discusing. Pirates Killing After Pirating - Ironfoot - 02-23-2009 Definate no, all players should be true to their word. If traders thought they would be killed and lose their money too they would simply run, or buy a cruiser and come after the pirate with it after the event, after all if the pirates don't keep to their word why should the simple traders? Without rules there would be anarchy! |
