"player1 lost the fight against player2. The ship was destroyed (mine, missile etc.), but no parties were injured during the encounter."

Heh yeah but i don't know if it's possible to have anything other then; Name-text-name-cause.

And yeh Panzer i'd like them messages back too.

Tbh the shorter the kill message the better, most names on the server are quite long, so "was killed by" is about as short as it can get.

But yes I also fail to see how the new suicide message is better.

Server death messages - Rudo - 02-25-2009

Suicide messages:
<Player> has won the Darwin Award.
<Player> has fallen and he can't get up.
<Player> just committed insurance fraud.

i really dislike the shot himself in the head message

normaly the pilot is ejecting and nobody dies

the suicide message is really bad

maybe it can be a error in navigation system
cause suicedes are made by crashing intinto planets

Well I agree the current messages arnt very RP. On the same thought coulnd we have "Player has joined the game" and "Player has left the game" changed to something like "Player ship systems online and cleared to undock" and "Player ship has powered down"

Is that possible? All this joining and leaving the game is very immersion breaking.

What I'd LIKE is system messages that are not in the system you're in DE-activated. Or at least a matter of choice if you want them visible or not.

Personally, it irks me to have "blah has joined/left the game" every 2 seconds, and that's at low player hours.

Quote:<Player> just committed insurance fraud.

That is an excellent idea! I would love to see that one.

<player> mistook the cruise control for the autopilot.

<player> misunderstood the meaning of "sunbathing".

<player> has experienced a weapons malfunction. (missile/torpedo)

<player> successfully used the new "boomerang". (mine)

I quite like where this is going now ... Keep them coming please, though the green 'Chuck Norris' inferences
will not be gracing the boards again. Ever notice how much nicer everyone's signatures look these days
without the d**k-waving contest.
