First, Cryer id and whant to use cruisers and battleships?!! no you can't!
Second, me as portuguese i could be happy to see a portuguese faction, but ... sincerely ... i don't think that will be a good idea, simply because no one will care! and sadly will be just one more that will end soon!! Infelizmente!
Basicly what you just wrote, is nothing more than one anti cardi and anti slavery, and that is good ... but you look more a Zoner than a Cryer, and also saw that you wanted Zoner because capital ships? Like laz said that is a terrible reason!
Now really ... you can be a Zoner faction ... yeah another ... that cooperates with cryer to end cardi and slavery, but you have a to work with the id restrictions, or yo ucan be for example a freelancer ... that also work a bit with zoner way, but you have to drop the capital ships ... you can use gunboats and for flagship you can evenuse a Corvo or a Bustard, and can you can have more action!
I also don't know why use the D. Sebastião .... since like it is known ... we hasn't a good king!!!The people basicly only liked him, because he was the only one that secured the independence from Spain ... that was lost few years after his death!!!

To be fair, it isn't exclusively Portuguese. It's more a kind of religious group.
And the hardest part is the ID
I have been told Freelancer, Outcast, Cryer.
As for the capital ships, I'm going to use a Liner as the base of operations. The capital ships were meant to be more a base than anything else. So I'm currently dropping the capital ship aspect.
As for the reference to the Apostates, I didn't even know they existed when my friends and I were developing this.
