This is almost correct, no SRP ship is being stolen, though it is part of the build up to make a new SRP ship.
Incase there was any confusion regarding if this was on official event or not, "This means which (player made) follow up event occurs depends on the outcome of this event." line was intended to make clear it was player driven and not an official event.
This is by no stretch an official event.
EDIT: I have updated the original post to reflect what the people getting kudos'd did, this should hopefully avoid any potential confusion.
