RE: [POLL] Unique ships available to public - Lucas - 07-30-2020 I don't think that ships that people have paid money for should be used without their consent honestly. That is not what they were modelled for and in some cases these things have absurd polycounts (Satsuma) that will end up making the game stutter more than Nephilim if seen in numbers which should kind of be avoided imo. Though I personally don't see anything wrong with adding them to the mod as a public ship if there's a niche and no technical complications RE: [POLL] Unique ships available to public - Alvin - 07-30-2020 (07-30-2020, 08:41 PM)Nepotu Wrote: I get you, but these ships haven't been used in YEARS. They are in the mod for nothing at the moment Can't comment on the Satsuma and Necrosis, but I can confirm one Persephone has been flown in this month, and another Persephone 3 months ago. Can't wait to see it around Speaking of the Satsuma, long ago when BD wanted to get it as symbol for the Shogun, we were told that that ship was not going to be flying in the game any more. Alas, times changed and there is one faction that has it right now. I've flown it in SP, as I am used to fly the Neph, I can't say it was that much worse Oh, if I remember correctly, AFC also tried to get their hands on it (or the bluprints) when they planned to attack the Arch. Edit: The Necrosis was flown during the Uncharted Kusari event, and I think Auxesia tried to get their hands on it. RE: [POLL] Unique ships available to public - Lemon - 07-30-2020 I think the original owners should have the option to release the design And then if they do the GMs set the prices as collectors items at either sci data or some stupid 5x values And not used literally in years...I mean they should lose protection if the guys that have them aren't around anyways for ages ? RE: [POLL] Unique ships available to public - puppytaste - 07-30-2020 I voted no. However at least in the case of the Persephone and probably all the others they are harshly under used. I think they should be for the benefit of all players, even if seen by but not necessarily used or accessible by all. My faction mates might not like me saying this, but how our Persephone is not used is a joke. It has 2 minutes logged on it this month. Looking at TAZ activity maybe theirs never got un-docked at all, I have no idea. And that's sort of my point, Most players only know these ships exist from old wiki entry's and forum posts but have never seen one in game. I never understood why there is not a required minimum amount of activity required by a faction/player to keep these ships in your hangar. And that is my suggestion to make here. Keep the ships the same, but require a certain amount of in game activity or relatable forum RP to keep possession of the ship. Otherwise it can be claimed by the next person or group that wants to have fun with it. That way the work that went into acquiring the ships retains its value and the rest of us get to enjoy it as well because at least we can interact with it in game. The ships remain special because not everyone can have it, but everyone else still gets a chance to get some game-play with it. With capital class ships a requirement may be that no fewer then 3 members of the faction have access to it as a rule to ensure it gets used. Perhaps there can be a way to purchase them for thousands of sci-research and RP to help get them into the hands of players/factions that do want to fly them, but still requires the effort of several people to do it. These are just suggestions. I've always loved the ideas of unique ships, I've never liked the process of getting them or how they are used in game or RP wise for the most part. I do think a tweak needs to be made here. Nerfing them and making them for sale openly is not the solution. Like SRP-only, but at least they're there in that case. RE: [POLL] Unique ships available to public - Couden - 07-30-2020 Limit back Tempest RE: [POLL] Unique ships available to public - Hubjump - 07-31-2020 I think some ships like the: Liberty Recon Cruiser (More corsair looking murmillo) Horus Persephone Necrosis Feanturi Maybe Satsuma are okay for mass use and balance could be attempted. Perhaps some SRP for the Satsuma or something, and beyond that oddballs like the one and only Tundra break the defect/infected standard by having a unique ship for their state. It is strange and not worth having around due to the idea that other ships should have their own tentacled up models. Also the Persephone would need a retcon on its infocard: This ship is one if not the only remaining relic of the original "Nephilim" Class Juggernaut guardship. But overall many of them fall beneath current ship model standards. Edit: Having an entire system dedicated to just having the Nomad Samesh model floating around for eye candy would be amazing. RE: [POLL] Unique ships available to public - Mephistoles - 07-31-2020 Is there anything unused that can be recycled as a GMG battleship? RE: [POLL] Unique ships available to public - Jayenbee - 07-31-2020 We could recycle your brain Mep. Since you're like a stuck record. |
