The Discovery storyline uses the long intro, the one with Sol going boom. That is the Official Discovery storyline.
So in this mod, Sol went boom.
That said, I like the houses being at war. It gives a lot of RP opportunities that you wouldn't get in peace time. (Proper smuggling, high tensions..)
