That's Jack.

I've met a Universal Shipping Transport, carrying H-Fuel from Omega-7. He wasn't really into the diplomacy or anything. He start blasting as soon as he tried to get away from me. The result is simple: Cargo and some extra work for Junkers. Dropping a Visuals.

This is Kurt.

Sent two patrols out today. One to the usual spot in Omega-3 and one to Frankfurt.

I was with the first one. Traffic was very light, no prey in sight. Then we picked up a distress call. I first thought it was some kind of trick. You know how sometimes merchant ships will make fake distress signals to send you on a wild goose chase while they go on their merry way? But that's not what happened.

Instead, there was a Freelancer frigate actually present at the given coordinates. Full of gold, too, and the captain wanted to talk. I'm attaching the conversation log for the Council's eyes - this could be something we can take advantage of.

So that's something to think about when we next gather over some rum. Which is gone again, by the way. Maybe these folks can help out with that - if we don't mind working with corpies unofficially. One day we ease up on these NSE guys, and the next, what - do privateering contracts for Krueger? I know some of the boys might take issue with that.

Anyway, we've lost another ship today in Frankfurt. We've recovered a flight recorder and the pilot's frozen corpse - looks like he overestimated his chances against a military ship. It's unfortunate, but rookies too eager to pick a fight with the taxman might end up like this. Hell, all of us might, one day.

Our pilots should step up their training drills. I'll see about getting the simulation computer fixed up.

Kurt out.

Alright ladies and gents, Kurt here. We've scored big time.

Yesterday, Maija and I went poking around in Corsair territory. And what do you know - their relic collection operation at Knossos that we've had our eyes on for a while? It was in full swing.

We've managed to slip in unnoticed. I guess we got lucky and missed their patrols, or maybe it happened during a changing of the guard, but the only one at the site was a Deterrence salvage vessel. He didn't even have to be coerced to fill up the Whydah's hold with the stuff he had.

Right when we were done, the Corsair combat ships arrived and started screaming over the open channel. But we managed to get out alright. It was almost too easy.

Before you break out the rum, that was just the first stage. We then had to smuggle out the loot. I'd heard rumors, of course, of the alien relic market in Liberty, but to go there was risky for a number of reasons.

For one, we had to go past Malta, and we had no idea how the Outcasts would react to a shipful of relics. Fortunately, no one paid us any heed except one freighter pilot. I still have no idea if he was actually tailing us or just going the same way, but he was getting on my nerves.

Once we had reached Liberty though, we had to worry about Rogues, Lane Hackers, Xenos, Liberty Navy, and God knows what else taking notice. But Maija seemed to know the way, and we managed to find a buyer for the stuff in California without too much trouble.

When that was over, getting home was the easy part.

On Maija's insistence, we bought freedom for some people from Liberty's slave markets and offered them a choice: get on with their lives or sign on with us. A few folks actually ended up joining, and we let the rest go. This decision weighs on me, because, despite good intentions, it supports the slave trade just the same, which is against our way. But Maija seems to consider it a valid recruitment method, and, well, I suppose we're in dire need of more support personnel here at Ithaca.

Is it better to let a man be chained than to free him by paying his captor, who can then go on to capture more men? It's a grey area for our Code. Suppose we can ponder that one over the next Council meeting. Anyway, I've rambled long enough.

I'll go get drunk now. Kurt out.

That's Jack.

We've been in New York system a few days ago with Kharga and found out that Liberty Rouges have no education at all. A little talk with such of Rouges like Birdie makes me to not visit Liberty, at least without a proper reason. And there were a reason to come - Xeno Relics. Managed to snatch and smuggle some from Corsairs and with Kharga we sold it in Liberty. By the way the Birdie had become into the debris.. So after all we left Liberty and sold Kidnapped VIPs on Malta. This was a jackpot!

Hyvää huomenta Herzen,

Reporting back from the Harrier, or at least... what's left of it. Them explosive pockets are somethin' else I tell you.

Encountered a Militar in one of those shoddy 90-ARKM-N60E's, with a Cargo Scanner of all things!
So anyway, that wasn't much of a problem. What came after, began to be...

Found myself sucking reserve air, while I watch gas pockets detonate on munitions around me. Kinda pretty if it don't kill ya.

Thinkin' we should do somethin' about that IMG Battlecruiser who was so keen to 'warn' me with his secondaries. Thoughts?

Keep it burnin',
Maija.

'Sup.

Good work on handling that Rheinwehr problem. The sooner they learn to respect what's ours, the better.

So, the IMG has come out to play the guy with a badge. We've had no dealings with them before - we usually stick to hitting House corps only. Taxing the taxman, so to speak. But if they want to go ahead and make us their problem, so be it. We've enough guns for everyone.

Anyway, I've had a little outing to New Berlin with Ulfhedinn as my wingman. The guy's a crack pilot - wouldn't have made out it without him.

We barely had time to get to our usual spot before a Bundschuh pilot showed up, and then a whole bunch of taxmen. Now, I don't know if the heat was onto him or what, but we didn't have time to chat before the badges started their usual drivel. I do hate the righteous types.

So yeah. We made a run for it before they decided their numerical superiority wasn't enough and dropped a turtle on our heads, and might have clipped a few wings in the process.

Now I have to repair my ship again. Got that in common, you and I.

I'll see you around.
Kurt out.

This is Jack.

I've met a Corsair train on the way from Gallia, carrying Molybdenum ore in Cologne. He tried to hire me to escort him, but he refused to share with some of his cargo he had. The result is simple - I've sold the ore on Livadia Shipyard and head back to Omegas.

Alright, then.

Something interesting happened a few days ago. We were beaten to our mark - an EFL merchant ship - by another pirate. Said pirate was affiliated with the LWB movement, now part of the larger Farmers' Alliance.

The merchant was real obtuse - I don't know if they just build them dense over in Gallia or what, but he just couldn't be convinced to turn around and go back the way he came - or pay an escort fee to be carted over to Zurich. On the bright side, we seized his entire cargo of gin when we scrapped his rusty tub. We signaled our pickup crew and had a nice chat with the Farmer while waiting.

The Farmer seemed alright. Maybe a little bit preachy, but we all have our causes, and this one's got a ship and is using it to fight the taxman and not us, which makes 'em a good sort in my books. Maybe we can get along - so enjoy the gin and don't go around starting pointless fights.

Hey, Kurt here.

First off, I had a little scouting trip into the Edge Worlds. I got as far as Omicron Nu looking for something to catch, but it didn't pan out so well.

Instead of fat smugglers, I found some kind of drone, an Order ship, and then a Liberty Navy patrol. The Liberty ship wouldn't answer my hails. Thought that was strange, since I'm not wanted in Liberty, but if my time in the Rheinwehr is any indication, they probably have orders to shoot everything that moves in that system. So I bailed before it got too heated.

On my way back, I met up with Billy from the RAVE crew. He had a similarly lackluster adventure but was open to teaming up.

We set off towards Bretonia and immediately caught a BMF train on his way to Omega-48. Sadly, he was empty, but we still collected a small tax from him. Better than nothing.

We roamed around in Cambridge and New London for a bit - seems BAF are too busy stirring things up in the Taus. Still, we didn't find anything else worth noting.

On our way back though, we got intercepted by a BMF corporate security ship in Omega-3. Seems our earlier catch snitched on us - but no matter. We taught him a lesson and made it back to Ithaca safely.

These RAVE guys are pretty good pilots. We should fly with them more often - and any other crews who aren't too stuck up to work with us.

That's it for now. Kurt out.

Systems Report, Abandoned Reason.

Die Schwarzen Herzen, This is the Captain speaking. As of some days ago, the Abandoned Reason conducted a refit with the aid of Junker contractors at Vieques Shipyard. For those present for operations testing, forgive the day on this report. Systems required repair and final adjustment before the Command Staff felt matters were completed.
With the aid of the Junkers technical staff, the Abandoned Reason has at long last been brought within acceptable operational parameters. All drive systems are functioning within specifications, and docking bay malfunctions have been reduced - for the moment - to an acceptable minimum.

Following the systems refit and initial testing, the Abandoned Reason and a supporting flight of strikes craft - Callsigns Terpentin,Roadkill,Dragonfly,Big Shot, and Ehrenwert
- conducted longer duty stress testing of the new systems, navigating several of the quiet areas of Sirius, including navigational hazards and some scans of long since discarded facilities for salvage operations.
Following these trials, i can report in full that all systems are functional to the capacity that i am willing to commit the Abandoned Reason to frontal operations, instead of reserve base duty.

Multiple small scale systems failures occurred in the course of systems stress testing, however engineering staff reports that hull fractures have been patched up with salvaged plating, and all turret armaments should function at expected levels in the case of a combat scenario, additional, fuel systems and faulty engine components have been replaced courtesy of third party deliveries to Ithaca base.

As of this moment, the Abandoned Reason is in full service, and prepared for operations across the Sirius Sector.
There is nowhere Die Schwarzen Herzen cannot reach, should the organisations Command feel it neccessary.

All Die Schwarzen Herzen, switch to Sequence 4 on your physical code sheets. Attempted communication with the Abandoned Reason under the prior code sequence will not be acknowledged and the Reasons precise location will not be given.
As before, should you misplace your code sheet, await pickup at Ithaca base, and be ready to buy a drink for whoever must divert to take you to the Abandoned Reason.

The crew and myself would like to once again convey our thanks to the Junker Marauders for their aid in securing the capability for this refit, as well as certain Corporate friendships the council have found agreeable for providing the equipment necessary, and remind all flights that the agreement stands with the aforementioned Corporate entity that their vessels are not subject to piracy for approximately the next one year.
Failure to comply with this agreement will result in the temporary confiscation of your craft and mandatory low level service duty aboard the Abandoned Reason - Assuming the Command Staff do not simply eject you from our ranks.

Logistics Addendum;
Stores of Hull Plating for repair are within acceptable levels for the time being.
Small Arms and Munitions for boarding parties and ship defence are down to 18%, with an influx of new recruits having consumed much of the prior stockpile, more will be required in short order.
The Bar aboard the Abandoned Reason is flush with Rum, courtesy of Third Party suppliers, and shall be for some time.
Fresh Food Stores are down to 45%, however reserve stockpiles are flush with allotted storage capacity.

Abandoned Reason,
Returning to Radio Silence.
