Can we have an ID line that permits us to use the C-word?

I'm joking of course, before anyone gets upset.

Plus, I'm an Aussie. I support the inclusion of the Down Underhouse.

Your voice makes you sound like you're from New Zealand though... (shots fired?)

Oi mate, keep it civil, he'll moderate you right from that kangaroo farm and sling weet-bix at yer

RE: Introduce an australian house - Victor Steiner - 09-08-2023

I object to the inclusion of a Oceania House, I find it far more likely that the Australians, Canadians, South Africans (Yeah I said it), New Zealanders and other Imperial territories would have been included in the Bretonia simply because they were Imperial territories. I don't understand the very early history of the FL universe but I imagine it would have been fairly similar up until 1945 at which point the universes 'diverge'.

I can also make the case that including another house will lead to dead systems and more system creation for those whose time is already being used on the current systems (given there is a patch delay, I find this a relevant point to make). And why Australia? Why not Brazil? or India? I also find it remarkably hard to believe that Australia would just conjure up a sleeper ship of its own all on its own, does it not make a little more sense to assume that the 5 sleeper ships were carrying more than just their respective peoples? (This in turn risks turning us down a rather unhappy geo-political conversation which we are going to ignore but is also another point against another house).

I'm aware this is flood, I'm aware it probably isn't a serious thread and I don't care.

I'm still opposed.

Kindly: An unhappy and tired New Zealander.

wet house

Any self-respecting sleeper ship would have made sure to exclude Australians, Steiner, and you know that yourself. At this point I am actually convinced that the Steiner family was deployed by House Oceania to sabotage Bretonia and Rheinland, which means House Oceania is most likely operating from the Omegas.

Just think about it:

Real life Australia:
- Rabbits are an actual problem to the eco system
- Most of Australia is uninhabitable
- Koalas have two thumbs but will die from starvation if one of them is broken because they don't think they can use the other one for climbing

House Oceania:
- The Omegas have the most horrible stellar bodies and phenomenons (neutron stars, black holes, Wesker, etc.)
- Almost no eco systems present
- The Omegas have so much radiation, it's easy to grow a second thumb

@TheKusari may have some choice words for you Tongue

There is a more serious thread here https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=198550&pid=2302409#pid2302409. It will most likely never happen in Discovery but a poll is placed and is used strictly out of curiosity.

Tbh, an Australian House would probably be made before an Arabian style house Big Grin

Oceania would be below the Sirian plane and of course upside down (you have to roll your ship upside down manually to properly use lanes and dock with stations).

I like it. New and fresh gameplay.

Why the aussies? they have some really scary things there ... and those koalas are really cute and they like to eat eucalyptus but when they run out of eucalyptus... they really like to kick some backside. And those kangaroos, they know how to throw some good punches. And I didn't even get to the worst part... those spiders... nahhhh!! Why not the eskimos? the seals that are cute, and the polar bears too... although they aren't very friendly! They can have iglo-shaped ships, and fire weapons that, instead of destroying other ships, freeze them. I vote for the eskimos.

Drop bears. Nuff said.
