Everyone else, get to your positions! RE: RM/RP vs UN | Sun Oct 15, 6PM UTC | The Alster Vacationers - Barrier - 10-15-2023 The Unioner Hel had a reactor coolant leak and had to stay behind on Pacifica for emergency repairs. A strike team of three bombers and two fighters was still dispatched to time their arrival to the Hamburg gate as the convoy left Alster, with the minute details reported to them by a collaborator. Though the military sent over a forward scout, the convoy was too tightly packed to break off, as a whole set of trade lane rings enacted an emergency shut-down due to external damage. The battle that followed was short but bloody, the transports ran the gauntlet to the gate, mostly avoiding the crossfire from the poorly positioned bomber wing. While the team lead immediately ordered pursuit, the military's forward scout was ahead of them through the gate, and disabled the Brandenburg trade lane after both transports were clear. With the rest of the escort groups transitioning through, the space around the jump gate heated up as the unioners extracted revenge for the escape of their prey. All three Rheinland snubcraft were destroyed, in exchange for one Unioner bomber. After this, the strike leader called a retreat, and the group escaped into the Ruhrfeld, tractoring in their shipless comrade. The military escorts dropped a buoy for incoming rescue operations, and proceeded at best speed to resume the route. By this time, however, the transports had made most the way to Mecklenburg, with no additional dangers meeting them on their way there. ![]() |
