I think it'd be good to have an 'about' area where the game's history, ongoing community support and modding scene is explained.

Released in 2003 by Digital Anvil and Microsoft Game Studios, etc etc

Could also include links to central Freelancer community resources like the Starport website and Discord there.

I would very much like to make this the landing page for the Starport if we can get a HTML/CSS dump of it. With a couple minor changes to make it fit with the rest of the theme it would be neat
