It's already how it was, though. A Zoner built a PoB right on top of another Zoner's PoB not too long ago and I would say that the owner of the original PoB in that location was fully within their right to siege that newly-built station-upon-their-station.

You can't realistically define every edge case. PoB sieges also have a day to kick in so if someone posts something egregious there is time to say "Nope, this siege is invalid" and prevent disaster.

I understand, but with that being the case, that's how the rule should be written. As of right now, it explicitly says that ZoI is the fundamental requirement. If rule enforcement will always consider nothing but sensibility, why does the rule explicitly mention ZoI and nothing else?

Yeah how would say, a Freelancer faction (Aegis?) declare a seige? Hmm

Quote:Bounty Hunting Rules:

1.0 - Bounty board operators may only issue blanket bounties against targets they are hostile with. Characters claiming bounties must be neutral to the board operator and hostile to the faction or individual that is bountied.

Does this mean that characters with ID Freelancer can no longer claim bounties offered on bounty boards?

Quote:1.3 - IDs that can attack any ship in pursuit of a contract may be hired in-game by players with non-generic IDs to engage in combat. Parties involved in combat must be made aware of such hiring.

When in-game is specified, does it mean that the contract must be made connected to the server, or can a forum RP be made through which contract is offered and accepted?

EDIT: Perfectly understood, thanks @jammi.

1.0 is about your character's personal rep. If you are claiming bounties on a forum board, your repsheet must be neutral to the sponsor and hostile to your targets. If you're a Freelancer, manage your rep appropriately.

1.3 simply means if your ID has a contracts line, you can be hired on the spot for combat purposes by anyone who isn't using a generic ID. This prevents a pair of Freelancers from hiring each other to kill everything in front of them, but means a Zoner or Corsair could hire a Freelancer to assist them.

Pretty sure these specific rules are actually the same as before, more or less

So corse can be hired on the spot now too, quite the buff

Quote:Faction Right 3. Official player factions may request that the reputation of a player's ship be changed to hostile with respect to their NPC faction. These requests must be posted within the Violation Reports subforum, and include link(s) to valid forum roleplay, as well as actual interaction between the character and the official faction. In case of IDs with multiple official factions, this right can only be used if it has support of every official faction of the ID, but in case of disagreement between the factions involved, they can post an appeal to the Server Administrators to review the situation and come to a decision.
Groups that have been subject to the use of FR5 by another faction, may treat this faction as hostile targets, except for transports, within their Zone of Influence.

Highlighted part needs changing to reflect the new numbering.

Quote:Core 5
- Official factions that have proven responsible and productive role playing members of the community for at least three months as Core 4, may request to have their bases upgraded to Core 5. If factions wish to upgrade to Core 5, they must file for a request in this subforum. Once approved the base will receive another set of upgrade blueprints.
- With the upgrade to Core 5, wear & tear damage on the base will be disabled.
- Only one Core 5 base per official faction is permitted. If officialdom is lost, the Core 5 upgrade will be downgraded to Core 4.

Does this now mean that Core 5 can no longer request for cessation of the FOW requirements?

Also, seeing as this is being updated, might as well change the wording here:
Quote:Once approved the base will receive another set of upgrade blueprints.
No blueprints are actually issued, the Base is changed to Core 5 by updating the File.

Freighters are now combat targets, rip miners.
Also FR3 (old fr5) now needs the faction itself have the interaction - RIP snitching!

Mhm. Rip miners in the strongest snub class in the game. What are you going to kill a freighter with other than another freighter? Lol.

They have no more business being trade ships than VHFs. Arguably less.
