[Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - slashhammer - 05-13-2009 @Derkylos ' Wrote:[diplomacy nitpick] (Sorry, it's what I'm good at:P) Thank you for your input - and on principle I'd agree. But our diplomacy referes to the npc diplomacy at the very first place, I don't want to have too many exceptions as Discovery with it's rules, ID's and so on is already more then just complex. Further the diplomacy stats reflect "our" point of view and how we deal with said factions - we do not expect that (player factions) do have the same diplomatic status with us. We're indies, so I cannot nor will setup too many restrictions and exceptions, but this may change in the future. And as far as I define it, friendly does not automatically mean allied - does it? It just says we've good relations with that faction - but this will not prevent them from being pirated by individual Junkers and versus. It just won't be very usual to happen. @ ggngunner ' Wrote:Personally, this doesn't seem like a very bad idea, and, even though you already do it, I suggest that you keep in close contact with both the congress and the Junker Naval Service in order to make the whole group of junkers to seem to have a sense of 'organization' within the us. We're looking forward to enjoyable and profitable cooperations with the Junker Congress and the Junker Naval Services - may we all benefit from it. [Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - AJBeast - 05-13-2009 So , this is kinda like that Freelancer "faction" of sorts ? I say go for it really , as long as you respect and follow the general guidelines of beeing a Junker. Good luck boys, see you in space! .:j:.MrUnusuall [Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - Weedalot - 05-13-2009 well they can be junkers in their own way.. i mean we in the congress do not pirate.. well not like the usual pirate that is. they on the other hand can chose to openly demand cargo and credits if they wish. Exactly Mr. Unusual & Weedalot that's what we've in mind - and also to improve relations with a couple of factions (player ones). Junkers are individuals of all kind, some do trade mostly legal stuff, mine and salvage other smuggle and some pirate from time to time. That's us - true individuals with a sense for unity when unity becomes necessary or just usefull. [Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - slashhammer - 05-13-2009 Factiondescription and memberlist updated. [Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - Akura - 05-13-2009 ' Wrote:Even when I don't remember the fellows name atm I do agree and did already talk to him, Yeah, previously a freelancer trader of sorts, making 'small moneys', but that sucked a lot, so I picked my self up the 'Shetland' bretonian transport, and joined the BMM as an indie, I got bored of doing that also. But I didn't get bored of the ship. I really love that ship, ugly as it is... I really like the feeling of individuality I have flying it. So as far as my story goes, I retrieved it near Manchester, beaten up and torn quite bad in places (the damages seemingly from an outcast pirate group), I set to work repairing it and re-enforcing the hull and cargo pods to protect against any other pirates I might stumble into. Now she flies proud and strong, taking supplies from wherever to wherever. If anyone has a problem I would reluctantly change it... to please their wishes... admins and the like. Ill write a story sometime when I have the time off work/junkering around on disco. Junker - Ashley [Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - Linkus - 05-13-2009 A faction of independants who are all still independant. Complete and utter failure of logic I'm afraid. The definition of Independant in Disco is not in an established faction, unnofficial ones included. That can be garnered from nearly every faction/independant argument. I really just feel the need to re-iterate Darkard's post, which you failed to reply to completely but just nitpicked on the BMM bit. Quote:You independant but in a faction? Independants are not in factions. A faction either has a common set of rules or encourages it's members to help each other and just generally work...together. Nought independant about that it seems. I don't really mean to attack this but it just makes no sense. If you are independant Junkers, why do you have the tag? If you are working together under a faction tag, you are not independant. [Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - Turkish - 05-13-2009 I think you should change your tag. [Junker] is quite common in somer respects, and may be easily confused with multiple independent players who aren't familiar with your organisation. At the top I noticed the use of a combination of symbols, -=-. This would make a more unique more easily identifiable flag for your group. That is just me however. [Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - ArthurDent - 05-14-2009 It`s amazing how many independent Junkers are out there who desperatly want to form a group. The [Junker] movement was indeed an independent one and it developed like a snowslide. Now you are stepping foreward, planning to found a new Junker faction, taking responsibility, hmmm, well, I think this is a good idea, people seem to want that, but Darkard, Weedalot, Linkus and all the others are right. It`s a faction now, it has a leader, a shiplist and an affiliation and it will need a lot of diplomacy to make it work. Calling it independent causes quite a lot of questionning as you can see. An independent faction sounds peculiar, you will probably agree. You could call it Junker Associates, Junker Movement, Junker Union or whatever comes to your mind. You don`t have to change the tag, but you may loose some of your faction members, who are wearing the vanilla [Junker] tag without meaning to be part of a faction. If you want to stick with your democratic independent philosophy, you may want to ask your members to vote for a name and tag for your faction. I think you may have a problem with your affiliation: - Beeing friendly to all pirate factions could be a problem, I`m not sure if they would agree. - Beeing friendly to all those pirates while dealing with corporates like BMM, GMG, IMG or ALG might be difficult to explain. - I think AFA will turn out to be hostile. I wish you good luck, cya in space [Junkers]. [Junker] -=- The Independent Junkers Movement -=- - worldstrider - 05-14-2009 Im all for Junker groups of all stripes but have specialized in atypical role play with them in order to create situations where "Regular Junkers" can get involved. That's all the JNS is for is bring RP opportunities your way to be involved in or not. I'll not comment on the structure and all as that's subjective and a learning experience to have anyway. You will figure it out by posting and player comments, Looking forward to being around Junkers period--so good luck. |
