Corsairs can mine with mining ships...though probably best to RP how you got it.
Also, currently, Artefact mining is less profitable than missions in Rhineland...so, bear that in mind.

Yeah the real question is will there be any profit at all in it? Anyone mining artifacts as a Corsair--resisting BH and Nomad npc attacks, player assaults due to their Corsair tag--is already rping they are a miner as they sure aren't making any cash at it.
