RE: NOTICE: Bounty Hunting Line Update - Seapanda - 01-16-2025 (01-16-2025, 01:13 PM)R.P.Curator Wrote: Contract - Agreement between "Employer" and "Contractor" for the "Contractor" to perform services in exchange for payment from the "Employer" I think this is splitting hairs and bordering with the "too niche". Why would you ever hire a bounty hunter to do transport duties? That line doesn't mean now, nor ever before, that the bounty hunter should "attack your items" that they are transporting. The way the line was meant originally was, as it was explained to me was reading as follows: Quote:It means BHG Quote:I hire BH1 to Escort ship X to Station Z. You are still confusing bounty hunting with escorting. Hiring someone as an escort is not the same as issuing a monetary bounty on someone's head. Quote:BH1 - Are you Pursuing a Contract? With the new bounty hunting lines that were added, this is also covered. Please see the original post, I've added the new lines there. RE: NOTICE: Bounty Hunting Line Update - Big Bison Bessie - 01-16-2025 I appreciate the reply and the information. The BHG and its business is something I keep a close eye on and am greatly invested in as since I have returned to disco, I have tried to limit the scope of what I make for characters. As such a BHG gal is my main ship on the server, go figure. The new engagement lines are indeed pretty spicy and interesting, and I feel like it would better protect someone from myself from Aegis if we could be pro-active (they alone previously had the ability to target BHG and freelancers outside of house space). The BHG ID is a pretty strong ID with no ZoI and very generous engagement lines that has potential for abuse without a doubt. So it is something to monitor going forward to see how this all plays out. But this doesn't look bad, cheers. This is under the assumption that they're pursuing an unlawful contract of course. As the resident BHG expert, if you notice any irregularities with how the ID is set up now, or if you find any loopholes that can be abused, please do let me know. I welcome any constructive feedback that could lead to potential improvements of the faction and the game itself. If there is a certain cause that would require us to look at unlawful factions and unlawful contracts, anyone is welcome to submit a new PR detailing the current challenges and potential solutions and improvements. RE: NOTICE: Bounty Hunting Line Update - R.P.Curator - 01-19-2025 This Generic ID is used by Freelancers, who: - Can attack all other bounty hunters targeting the same bounty. >> Freelancers are not bounty hunters. So if any freelancer or enemies of said target engages the same target to steal the contract, they cannot be attacked. - Can attack any ship that is the target of a contract. >> If it attacks only the ship that is the target, any ally of that ship can CD the BH/FL without being engaged, since CD is not considered attack. If CD is considered ATTACK, any ship that docks while being CD'ed without any lines is PVP dead. - Cannot use Cruisers, Battlecruisers, Battleships, or ships with more than 3,600 cargo space. NEW: - Can be hired to complete contracts: Escort, Protection, Bounty Hunting, Delivery - Can attack any ship that interferes with the completion of a contract - Cannot use Cruisers, Battlecruisers, Battleships, or ships with more than 3,600 cargo space. The explanation is not to be used in the ID Lines. It can be posted in the Rules clarification thread. Explanation: - For the sake of RP creativity, activity and regulation (to ease the work of admins), the contracts have been exemplified and will be explained - Escort: Take a ship from point A to point B. This can exclude Protection - Protection: Protect ship/s from any ship/s that would want it destroyed - Bounty Hunting: Assassination or Regular Bounty Hunting - Delivery: Take item A to station / Planet / Faction B The wording is pretty simple and easy to understand, while offering flexibility in the gameplay / RP in game. Basically, Freelancers and Bounty Hunters now can be hired by both lawful and unlawful factions / players for various contracts - it gives more range to operate and it gives them the ability to engage any ship, regardless of their reputation if the "interfere" condition is fulfilled - this will have to be demonstrated via RP or VR in case of reports - so take notice! Also, for the sake of the topic, don't consider BH just guns for hire. Let them have some flexibility - as proven in the small IMG event where BH were hired to escort the IMG ships to O48. Give them some flexibility for the sake of activity and RP. |
