I just noticed something interesting... - Athenian - 05-19-2009 I'm reminded of the Sopranos or when the US enlisted the help of the Sicilian Mafia during WW2. In RP there is plenty justification available for such an arrangement. In fact, pretty much ANY rp that serves the purpose of teaching those whose ridiculous behaviour only serves to disrupt game-play on the server is to be welcomed. This is Sparta. This far and no farther. Ils ne passeront pas. We shall fight them on the beaches. Etc.... you get the idea. I just noticed something interesting... - rayne - 05-19-2009 Ok maybe not corrupted but the general public may see it as that. I just noticed something interesting... - Guest - 05-19-2009 Ofcourse, this rp development wont be played out in the open, as queted "more like a nod and leave", and even tho it will be a closed Rp involving only the FACTIONS not indies, I hope this can bring some order into NY, because right now, things are getting out of hand, like, for example, daily lolboat raids. And weed, if you fail to understand, that this is not about you, i must ask you to take your ranting elsewhere, preferably, with a brick wall or a Heavy mortair blast. Server shut down in ten minutes. ' Wrote:The LSF are as "corrupt" as they come, withholding information about nomads for instance and denying the existance of alaska and Z21. We are not corrupt, we simply do whatever it takes, including striking deals with the devil. I just noticed something interesting... - rayne - 05-19-2009 Thats why i said "corrupt" make of it what you will. Like I said earlier, the general public will view what we do as corrupted. and n00blet, check the stock exchange please tee hee. I just noticed something interesting... - pipsqueak - 05-19-2009 so...LR wanna play mercs who can pirate, interesting thought.... lets see how that goes. I just noticed something interesting... - Hawkwings - 05-19-2009 Gah! People don't know what the word "corrupt" means! At least that's the impression I'm getting. An action cannot be corrupt, but the motives behind it can. If my LSF hired a couple Rogues to do a snitch job, such an action would be frowned upon by the general populace, probably, that that doesn't mean my LSF is corrupt. To determine whether he's corrupt or not, you need to look at the motive. If the motive was to find an Outcast destroyer and get rid of it before it shot up West Point, then no my LSF is probably not corrupt, merely taking unconventional (or is it?) actions to produce the desired results. If the motive was to find a cardi shipment so he could take take it for himself and sell it and make all that money, yeah, probably corrupt then. Yes, people have jobs where they do unpleasant things in service of a government. That doesn't make them corrupt, it just means that their jobs are difficult. I just noticed something interesting... - Guest - 05-19-2009 I really wish to try to move the LR- storyline in this way, since even tho Rogues are a disorganised bunch, we show the organised, cooporated and open side of the Rogue npc faction. A drastic change of the usual "pirates mostly, pew pew sometimes" what we tend to see from most rogues, i know, but I wished to give them a much deeper meaning as a big part of the evolution of Liberty as a house and a part of it's infrostructure, not just a bunch of criminals. It let's us rpers of Liberty stick together a bit more out of character, while providing QUITE a large rp pallate before us as well. The LSF are as "corrupt" as they come, withholding information about nomads for instance and denying the existance of alaska and Z21. Few things to ask on that "corruption" deal. First off, only LN, LSF, Order, and Nomads know alaska truly exists. Past that, its only unconfirmed highly improbable rumors from psychotic and near-insane conspiracy theorists. Well, those in addition to the bad-rpers/oorpers who cruise in and out on a daily basis using the area as a shortcut for their various needs who constantly scream out "IV BEEN THERE, IT EXISTS, BLAH BLAH BLAH" I just noticed something interesting... - GDI7007 - 05-19-2009 ' Wrote:Few things to ask on that "corruption" deal. Well, those in addition to the bad-rpers/oorpers who cruise in and out on a daily basis using the area as a shortcut for their various needs who constantly scream out "IV BEEN THERE, IT EXISTS, BLAH BLAH BLAH"I have to disagree there are good RPers that deal/hang around the Alaska gate, I got arrested today by 2 =LSF= people for going through restricted area(well what would you do if you saw a bumblebee with AGeria ID and ALG tag?), so um tons of people In character know about alaksa, but they may not know what goes on there(if any thing >.>). But I got escorted to the battleship Missouri, hence they showed me the way out and hehe I traded the info to the entrance to the mine field to a few people for $100,000 credits... Err ok maybe it could be seen as bad RP or noncannon/whateveryoucallit But zone-21(the mine field) shouldn't be all hush hush like it was back in the days of Edison Trent, I mean HELLO! the order use it to attack NY.
