My personal opinion is that you need to think the general shape over again. The ship doesn't necessarily need to look like a buffed Liberator, some originality is required in order to make something nice. I don't think anyone would fly that brick, get it some dynamic lines.

the front view is now making me think warran for some reason...
anyone else getting that?

Perhaps you guys should use a Modified executioner for your bomber. Add another torpedo port, higher energy rating and throw on another layer of armor sacrificing speed and mobility.

It's not uncommon for slightly dated military equipment to be used for civilian purposes (example, Jeeps, Hummers, and armored cars used for SWAT teams)

How about instead of a larger and bigger hull that as said prior to me makes it look rather chubby, install two tube or block like extensions to the hull, think of the Taiidan bomber, it isn't fat by design, it merely has extension hull add-ons to accommodate torpedo slots.

I don't mind a LPI bomber, but for RP sake, maybe one slot for Torpedoes and above?

I like it, your use of polygons is good and clean. The mesh is great over all, it has a good Liberty shape, I'd suggest rounding the cockpit a little more though.

Second point is I keep calling it the Preogorator.

Hmm, not really too my liking.

Remember what happened with the old Civvy Bomber back in 4.84?

I think this design won't really be so loved, because of the notion that the ship itself has,

1. Been eating too much donuts.
2. Is pregnant.

The concept of a ship being streamlined is so that it can cut through the air with minimal friction. In space, there is little to no friction, so streamlining isn't as important. After all, where do you expect all the extra power of a bomber to go?

I was aiming to avoid a repeat of the Red-Cat by making the model a decent size. The cock pit is still being worked on like I said. I plan to make it shaped more like the Liberators' by the time I'm done.

To everyone who's just saying "It's fat, it's pregnant" That's not helpful at all. After all, I already know that, the design was supposed to be a beefed up Liberator. Helpful suggestions are better than repeated comments.
The Fuselage is wider to accommodate the torpedo slots and engines. If I made them exterior it would look like a scaled up Liberator with Torpedo pods slapped on and a rear cockpit.

When I get home from work I'll bring its' 'belly' up. But I won't be changing the width or the torpedo pods, those are what make this ship.

As for the name, "Protector" is what I'm going with for now.

Any ideas on the stats? Possible turrets? Turning stats?

I would like to see it skinned... so far it has my interest

Edit: What you said in the last post is making sense, wider Libby with a bigger engine.

I am fully aware of the negligible friction in a vacuum and Im also aware that inside an asteroid field or dust cloud there are gravitational effects & increased friction. Anyway lets not talk physics in a game where smoke rises from Stokes Mining Station.

The purpose of my original post was an attempt to offer some constructive criticism to help make your bomber more physically appealing to the player. Like the majority of Freelancer pilots I am disgracefully fickle preferring to fly a better looking ship and whilst nobody would question the requirement of a bigger chassis, the current shape needs some tweaking.

Good luck with the changes.

I'll save most of my judgment until I see it skinned. The only thing that I don't like is the rear cockpit. I don't really like the shape. Other than that though I think this has a lot of potential.
