Question for Admins - Kuraine - 06-12-2009 If it is a proper Civilian ship and green on your technology chart, you won't get sanctioned (or definitely shouldn't, at least). Basically, do what others have suggested: buy the ship while you have your recruit ID and before you've sorted out your rep with your appropriate unlawful faction. Question for Admins - Thexare - 06-12-2009 Thank you, that's what I was hoping. I'll make note of this thread in case the question comes up in the future. Question for Admins - farmerman - 06-12-2009 I do hope in the future that ships like that may be sold more on unlawful type bases, like the Behemoth is now. At least the ones that make a lot of sense or see a lot of use. The ~3k house transports, for instance, or the Tigershark for Rheinland. Question for Admins - kingvaillant - 06-12-2009 The only justification to use I would foresee is to make a RP where your character is a freelancer and decides to become rogue. The chart allows you to use the ship (please verify the infocard too, just to be sure) and if you bough it before turning unlawful... where's the problem? That is what I think. However, I don't recommend to land on those bases when your char is already a pirate (in-rp) ((or do like kuraine said:P)) Question for Admins - Grog - 06-26-2009 I don't see the problem here: you're green(or white) on the tech match chart, and RP-wise "a buddy bought it for me while he/she was on <base>" or "I won it in a space-poker game" or "one shot right through the canopy, dragged it back to base, tossed the pilot out and put a patch on the plexiglass"... no biggie. Question for Admins - Thexare - 06-27-2009 You posted in a two week old topic that was asking a question which had already gotten an admin response. Furthermore, your post indicates that you did not understand the reason the question was asked, despite it being spelled out in the discussion - in the first post, in fact. I quote: Quote:However, none of those ships are available on bases they can land on. This is an issue because, prior to the rule revision, people did get sanctioned for having ships sold on bases they couldn't have landed on with their current rep. But then a lot of people seemed to miss the very first line (you know, the "I do not want a bunch of interpretations from normal users", and the topic title being "Question for Admins")... (Edit: Somehow combined "title" and "tidal" in my head.) Question for Admins - Grog - 06-28-2009 ' Wrote:You posted in a two week old topic that was asking a question which had already gotten an admin response.I'm a bit slow. Also I like to type, it makes me feel happy. I quote:maybe they should make some sort of chart addressing the issue. Quote:But then a lot of people seemed to miss the very first line (you know, the "I do not want a bunch of interpretations from normal users", and the topic title being "Question for Admins")...yeah all these noobs posting on an admin board tsk tsk. Not like admins have anything better to do with their admin time than re-answer questions answerable by pretty well anybody else. <curtsy> :D Question for Admins - Thexare - 06-28-2009 ' Wrote:maybe they should make some sort of chart addressing the issue. Further, from the chart that you so sarcastically referenced, or more accurately the accompanying admin post: Quote:* To determine which faction a ship or weapon belongs to, first read the infocard of the ship/weapon. If the infocard states the faction owner of the technology, then that may be all you need to know. If the infocard does not state faction ownership, then the technology may be considered to "belong" to the owner of any base where the technology is sold, even if that means it "belongs" to multiple factions. You want to keep up this game, or do you want to drop it now? Question for Admins - Grog - 06-29-2009 ' Wrote:Further, from the chart that you so sarcastically referencedThe "chart" wasn't the object of my sarcasm. Quote: You want to keep up this game, or do you want to drop it now?Not that big an issue for me either way, you ? So my Outcast character can fly a Shire ? neat. |
