Ronin - Friday - 06-13-2009 ' Wrote:Just wanted to say, try to find a better reason why the Ronins left the service in the final version of description. Because the samurai mean to serve (and this is their main goal), they cant be freedom fighters. It does specifically state that they are not freedom fighters, and their exile is self-imposed. If the Ronin felt the urge for greater freedoms in a cultural sense - it would have caused an internal conflict leading to their departure. Remember they CALL themselves Ronin, it doesnt mean they ARE in the historical sense of the word. Even using the term might of itself cause RP friction with the KNF. Historically, attitudes towards the Ronin differed throughout the ages. Ronin - Markam - 06-13-2009 I sort of wish you'd make it a KNF faction, perhaps as the samurai of a daimyo that died to the hands of the blood dragons in the civil war, you seem to want to use KNF ships? unless I misread what you said. KNF are a struggling faction, and kusari proper is mostly undefended as most of KNF base themselves in Leeds, some make wyrms and keep them in kusari, but that is far from ideal. My personal opinion is that GMG doesnt really need a new faction, the one that is already there are pretty healthy, I often see them online and they attend events with good numbers. Not to say I'm forcing my own opinion on you, just like all opinions, they're begging to be said. I have heard also of incidents where you're firing on KNF in kusari, and I hope you dont go and make issues from the GMG faction (as a whole) towards KNF, as far as I can tell gmg fighting knf is somewhat of a no-no despite GMG and samura hatred. Though dont take my word for it, I dont claim to be wise on this area. Ronin - RockCrystal - 06-13-2009 It was ONE incident, it was Kusari Police not KNF, and the pilot involved was severely disiplined. Ronin - Bjorn - 06-13-2009 Well, from what Ive seen, you are on good way to be fine addition. Ronin - darthbeck - 06-13-2009 i will agree with markam, and say that you need to make sure that your faction members dont go shooting people that they should not be shooting, cause your gonna end up with people getting pissed at you. Ronin - DeathsOverture - 06-13-2009 I reviewed this with you already, and I really love this idea. Just remember to make a diplomacy chart and ship list at some point in the near future, so there is ample time to review it before you request official status. The Ronin will not be a redundant faction - their members represent exclusively a tight-knit self-exhiled Kusari Naval Forces group. The Ronin chose the GMG because we are in-fact independent, and dwell in the Crow Nebula on Kusari's borders. Yes, see Peter Kristall's post. I believe the incident was more of a blood feud than open hostility. If your faction goes official, you should consider opening recruitment to keep the ball rolling, as they say. Ronin - Ortog - 06-14-2009 ' Wrote:I welcome them as Brothers-in-Arms and members of the community.I am flattered by your warm welcome honourable guild master. I would also like to thank all the valuable input and reassure you that a proper final version will be made, in the near future, taking in consideration all the issues noted here. Please continue, as it is important to us to polish our proposal. Ronin - ProwlerPC - 06-14-2009 Ah yes I see you have begun making your stories for the forums, Ortog. Glad to see it. Ummm, Friday, I'm pretty sure the Ronin group can RP the GMG ID's secret alliance with the BD ID. I could be wrong on this subtle but distinct point but isn't BD the descendants of the former true Samurai of Kusari and the current KNF the descendants of a personal Guard that got to their spot when the family they were protecting gained the throne. There may be room for the Ronin to RP their secret alliance with the BD movement. Again I'll add that I may be wrong, been awhile since I read that part gotta rummage through my vault of SSs. The others are right, Ortog, you'll need to write up a shiplist, ranks, roster as well as a diplomacy chart (the diplomacy will be the one that gets feedbacl to make adjustments ;)) Take a look in the faction status thread (my sig link) and take note of all the examples, notice the similarities despite differing aesthetics, you'll see what is required for your post. As far as in-game RP, I am pleased to have you around in our space. Maybe it's because I got soo used to Sig 13 in 4.84, but you guys have been around RPing with us for a couple months now and I have to point out that for a new group learning the server you guys have made far less mistakes than I've seen from many others. Keep up the good work. Remember I am always available for questions and will assist you in anyway possible. Ronin - Ortog - 06-25-2009 Continuing to flesh out our proposal before we compile the final version, I will now post our roster and list of allowed ships. Roster Ronin work under two divisions: Trade Division and Paramilitary Division, even tough most members will have ships in both of them. When in Convoy the highest ranked paramilitary member will have the command , assisted and advised by the highest ranked trader concerning the ploting of course and technical stops. In military situations the highest ranked paramilitary member has full responsibility. Orders are meant to be followed and debates will only take place after the situations are resolved .
