What you are suggesting is kinda interesting.
It reminds me of what a guy did in New Berlin once in a starflea. He RP'd as air traffic control at New Berlin docking ring.
If you called yourself LNS Missouri, for instance, and stayed above plane, out of sight, you could pretend to be the commander of the Missouri.
I have no idea what rule you could be breaking. Though you could annoy people.

I don't think it would be against the rules, but what if some other person found you? I'd bet they would roleplay you being delusional or something. Awkward... Otherwise, just get a camera ship.

well if you did want to do this, couldnt you just park your starflea next that liberty LN eye candy at norfolk...and then RP that you are dry docked? or that your captain is to lazy to chase after ppl?

I was unfortunate enough to buy a Rheinland Battleship. Had fun until I got the RM Guard tag and ID, then after 20 minutes I got bored and sold it.
A lesson can be learned; as you said before, if you want to role-play a Battleship just go 50k above the normal level in a starflier instead of spending 1 billion credits for some good role-play.
