well if the trader just runs and remains silent you arent allowed to kill him until you made your demand for credits or cargo but if the trader starts shooting you are free to kill him cause self defense is allowed in every situation.

There any way to macro ?

/setmsg # Messagehere

/#

Setmsg will set a message to any number from 1-9. Then /# will make that message appear in system chat. But I dislike using it for piracy. It's better to just hit the trader with a CD, then make a demand, then hit with a CD again. The CD disrupts cruise engines for 5 seconds, and then it takes another 5 for their cruise to start up. Plenty of time to type out a demand.

And if their cruise does get started before you can finish writing the demand, hit the Esc button, it'll close the chat box, then you can CD again.

That they are running while you type is not an excuse at all. There are many ways to get around that.

Lifes a bitch ain't it?

There certainly seems to be a lot of times where that's how things go for me, too. Cut the trade lane and before you can even say anything, they silently start to fire on you. And then they quickly get to meet space. Silly silent transports.

An inspiration to us all....

Anyway, I was trying to very nicely make a demand of some credits to a trader who wasn't responding, constantly engaging cruise. When he finally gave up on that and came to a stop I tried to make demands again but then started shooting me. He took more than half my shield down, I took it as an attack and destroyed his ship.
Basicly the same here. If the traders don't want to give in to demands and take more than half your shields down, it changes from pirating or lawful rules to engagement rules.

Indeed.
