' Wrote:There's way, WAY more to consider than simply 'Oh great, now I have to fly farther'. Lets go along with your example of New York. New York is the Capital system of Liberty. If that system goes buhbye suddenly, I predict a very, very swift collapse of the entire Liberty house.

From a non-RP point of view as well, you have just erased one of the most recognizable and populated systems off the face of Sirius. There are going to be no end to the complaints from doing that.
If we don't care about physics, then why don't we just strap guns and engines onto Planet Manhattan and turn it into a ship?(And yes, I actually tried this a while back for fun. Worst. Ship. Ever.)

we also erased the 2nd most OORP system

Well, then in 4.86 Rhienland can come in and start carving up texas. It will be like the bretonia-kusari war.

Just because something might be "cool" does not mean it would be a good idea.

agreed.

blowing up New York, or any populated system, would be a real nightmare rp wise.

theoretically it would switch the population to another nearby system.

you just lost me there, by switch do you meen move to another system? wouldn't the population get fried?

i was reffering to players, but for normal peeps living there losing planet manhattan may be a slight decrease in population.

Allong with the destruction of the central government.

that aside, you'd still need a good reason for the star to explode. Most of the stars in freelancer are main sequence and dwarfs, they dont just go boom. Perhaps a nomad attack with a superweapon, of mayby the shadows have something that can kill stares.

the nomads can fire a device into the star that halts all nuclear fusion.:D

if anything, this is the most UN-balancing idea I've ever heard. You just failed more epicly than all of Lindburger's fail posts put together. :nono:
