If trading includes smuggling, then that goes first for me.
Mining second
Pirating third.
Pirating requires a large investment of time and money in order to start up, and it doesnt pay out nearly as well as mining or trading. Mining is less profitable than trading in every area I've tried to mine, and smuggling is just more fun - keeps you on your toes... plus I'm a smooth talker and I like figuring out how to get around or get by potential obstacles =P

If you know where to sell the stuff you get. You can make a killing.
Since their is no buy price, its just pure profit.

If you do it right mining is the most profitable. The MCi miners have clocked 115mill in 1 hour and average around 105 mill/hour. that is 26.25 mill on average, and the time flies fast. and with no pirates to be seen or anyone bugging you

I mainly use my traders to get some cash. You can try that too and join ALG, it's pretty much to earn.
Secondly... piracy. Just some targets of opportunity. I just do not have enough time to do serious pirating.
And lastly mining... never did it.

!5 million from pirating in one day. Yeah, some of the traders cant afford one million... *sighs* im too nice. And ya, some of them die. But come on! Wouldn't you pirate a rank 80 for 2mil? Traders love me, i know.
Best spot is in kyoshu to one of the taus
