Battleships arent exactly designed for cargo interdiction, if that's what you wanted your character to focus on you really should have bought a gunboat.

Battleships are designed for heavy artillery warfare, they're weapons platforms - not highly mobile assault craft.

Here's an anecdote from Star Wars:

The Star Destroyer is not a battleship.
It chases things down and catches/blows them up.

The Executioner (super star destroyer) is a battleship.
It moves really slow and looks ominous.

It stops the drift fighting cruisers in their tracks though..

I see no reason for CDs. They aren't supposed to chase, they aren't supposed to interdict cargo..

They used to have them in 4.85. I remember that distinctly. They also had a brand of CD's designed for stopping a battleship.

As for the answer: No. It's not needed.

Yeah, they did have "Battleship Cruise Disruptor" which changed into "Reinforced Cruise Disruptor"

Its the same thing, its a CD strong enough to not get blown off.

' Wrote:Thats true in most situations, however I believe certain factions can have capital ships demanding certain items.

For example, the BHG Core can demand nomad technology from -anyone- and can blow them up if they don't comply.
I believe the rules superseded the ID clause in this case. The ID doesn't specify that Cruisers and Battleships can be used to demand nomad technology from transports. I may be wrong, but the way I've always seen it, if you're in a Cruiser/Battleship the only reason you can shoot a transport is in self defense.

Del told me that you can attack transports if your id allows it, for example a trader hauling nomads can be blown up by a Core battleship if it refuses to drop them. That's how I've operated and my Destroyer and Battleship haven't been sanctioned for demanding nomad cargo.

Aye you can demand things. In that case RP overcomes trader - fighter relations
