Practicality of a missile boat? - Lucas_Fernandez - 08-29-2009 The gb is an anti bomber/fighter ship. (with unlimited missiles LOL ) Why do you want make it universal? Practicality of a missile boat? - JakeSG - 08-29-2009 More importantly, why do they want torps on them? Then they'd just be back at the 'Jack-of-All-Trades' status they had in .84, except much worse. Practicality of a missile boat? - DarthCloakedGuy - 08-29-2009 Perhaps Gunboats should be split into two classes, Supremacy gunboats (designed to be effective at dealing with fighters and bombers), and Assault gunboats (designed to be effective at dealing with larger enemies) Practicality of a missile boat? - Andrew_Bonesovich - 08-29-2009 Gunboat missiles now work very well against fighters/bombers. They have epic tracking, and are almost un-CMable. Heavy gunboat with 2 missiles is able to give hell to anything small. And Cruiser missiles are able to hit bombers on long range :D I saw it happen a lot of times. And no, those bombers werent standing still. Practicality of a missile boat? - Lunaphase - 08-29-2009 Andre has a good idea there... personally, id like to see long range specialist ships for bombardment support. Practicality of a missile boat? - Horon - 08-29-2009 Missile boat: Fighter Rape Capship Fail. Basically. Practicality of a missile boat? - johnpeter - 08-29-2009 Andre, that's a great idea.... Practicality of a missile boat? - Mickk - 08-30-2009 Just as a point of interest and very much in line with what the OP is talking about, have a look at THIS This is a Missile Boat (well, the XWAupgrade version) from X-Wing Alliance. Typical loadout for a Missile Boat in that game is 40 'advanced' missiles. This could be what is needed, although a new 'missile/torpedo' launcher would need to be developed for it to work right. *note: I have no part or claim on any of the models on this site, it's just an example of what a missile boat might look like. Then the next battle I let them use missiles, and so they used them. A lot. Like, if I had CMs to begin with they would have been gone in 30 seconds. They did more damage to me without missiles than with them... Missiles are a waste of energy... Just learn to aim Razors. Chainfiring basics seems to be effective as well. |
