Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - tansytansey - 09-03-2009 Quote:6.20 Attacking traders or demanding cargo is not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless cruisers and battleship belong to Terrorist ID or Phantom ID owner. As has been said, if you want to stop smugglers fly a Gunboat or Bomber. Even if you stop them, you can't do anything to them. That is the reason Battleships (most likely) don't have Cruise Disruptors. Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - gafwmn - 09-03-2009 its called stopping tresspassers in a restricted military space......could give 2 hoots about their cargo...it all burns the same. Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - Scorpio - 09-03-2009 Furious Absolution Here. Now, The problem with Z21, as i see it, is that theres a great deal of confusion about who controls it, a lot of traders that have been "silenced" seem to be unsure of who controls it, Another problem is, when ever i respond to an alert i always have to spend 10 minutes finding the path :lol:But, that could just be me, Anyway in my mind the situation is simple, anything without the proper ID burns, This is the way it i saw Z21 when not involved on any side, indeed this is the outlook that both the LN and LSF project Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - RmJ - 09-03-2009 Quote:Furious Absolution Here. Absolution Its more LSF than Navy interests but the Order have their invested weight in it as well, which is silly. But oh well. Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - Nille - 09-03-2009 ' Wrote:Hi Furious. Absolution But isn't the navy doing important research there ? It would in your best interest not to let anyone there enter without the proper ID. Stealing the research there might be just as bad for you defenses then "waisting ammunition". It just doesnt make sense to turn a blind eye te trespassers there... Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - Thurgret - 09-03-2009 I think the Navy has a considerable larger presence there than the LSF, actually. Anyone remember in single player just how quickly those two battleships were deployed to block the jump gate back out? Sure, a whole load of fighters and two siege cruisers had just broken in, but they must have been somewhere nearby to get there that quickly. (and part of me wishes Walker had shouted 'ramming speed' rather than saying 'goodbye Jun'ko'...) Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - Linkus - 09-03-2009 You can destroy un-authorised ships in Alaska if you have the proper ID, regardless of your ship apparantly. ID takes precendence over Rules is what Admins once said. Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - LSF_Goose - 09-03-2009 Let's look at it this way... Alaska is off limits to unauthorized personnel. Who is authorized? Well check your ID. If it doesn't say you can operate in Alaska, then it's pretty academic. In so far as LSF is concerned... The LSF Guard ID specifically states: "Can destroy on sight any unauthorized ships with in the Alaska System" This little sentence does not appear in the standard LSF ID. Additonally, it does not mention anything about cargo in relation to an unauthorized presence in Alaska. Nada. So, I interpret it simply. If you are not supposed to be there, expect to be engaged with or without warning. It's just that simple. Regarding BS at the gate. That's never going to happen. Liberty is currently at war with Rhineland and placing such a resource to curtail smugglers really isn't practical, not to mention the comments made by those who posted before me. Besides, why would you want to automate something that is rightfully designed to promote player participation? As frustrating as it can be, a dedicated patrol might just be the answer you are looking for to get a handle on the Alaska question. That is if the LSF and LN can put their differences aside long enough to exact a concerted effort? Just my thoughts, Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - Seth Karlo - 09-03-2009 San Francisco here. While battleships arn't allowed to demand cargo from traders, nor kill them unless we demand something, if a trade goes past and shoots at you, then you are allowed to do self defence aye? -Seth Alaska/Zone21 Or Whatever - Klaw117 - 09-03-2009 Unfortunately, to act in self defense, your shield has to drop halfway or they have to fire a CD at you. I highly doubt smugglers would be able to do this. |
