you have to decide...

you either totally abandon the idea of serenity:firefly ... or you make a really good model of the firefly. - but a hybrid of a halfbred import / slightly freelancerish ship is not really working i think.

we discussed it in 4.84 (closed beta) already. - so - either a really new medium sized transport that looks like it is as agile and compact as the current firefly. - or a detailed and well done import of the real firefly.

while its an import - it is also some sort of "generic". - when it even appears in BSG as an "easteregg" - it may also fit into freelancer disco as some sort of an easteregg. - the greatest problem with it is the low quality of the skin / model.

I'd say stick with the current '+' shape of the Firefly, with the extended neck and jutting wings on either side. Maybe apply a rounded Percheron cargo bay to the underside? Add more lines to the head as well - at the moment it's just a poorly textured ball on a stick really. Give it more distinction, more angles.

Try replacing the rear engine with the ones you see on the Shire/Bretonian capital ships(?) and the dual engines on the side wings with something vaguely similar but downsized.

Currently I don't like that model. It doesn't look right. An easier option however, might be to drop the Bretonian influence altogether and redesign it as a Borderworld ship, with the relevant skin and angles. Because believe me, the Firefly is never going to look like a fish, so it's never going to fully integrate with the rest of the Bretonian line regardless of what you do to it.

I like the Firefly's shape. Really much.
Texture upgradeed is teh shizzle

I would keep the Model you did, give it a Borderworld Texture and then Remove the Bretonian out of the Infocard. The current Firefly doesnt look anything Bretonian anyway.

Reducing the polygon count might actually make it look better.

I suggest extending those two rectangles that come off the back.... both so that they go farther back and stick farther out...like wings

our firefly has wings, and I think something like that should be put into this really....

right now she looks like the Pillar of Autumn

Keep it the way it is Turkish ... if ya wanna create a new version fine ... but for those of us that actually fly the thing ... please leave it alone.

I'm telling you simply and with no malice, no I will not leave it alone.

This looks like a liberty ship, we have enough of those already. The firefly is, according to it's infocard, bretonian.

The Firefly has never felt Bretonian to me. Even then, Bretonia has more transports has Liberty.
