In the process of hybridization on a small scale, an Incubi is forged with the cerebral cortex, allowing the human to keep it's outer form. It could still fly human ships and mount human weapons on that human ships. And they're technically not "grown" but created out of energy. ;) Hybrid RP Chatter - Zapp - 09-06-2009 ' Wrote:And how they could mount their equpment? As such, they can fly human ships, which of course would have human technology. Saying Nomads couldn't figure out human tech is ridiculous, they're an advanced species that has dealt with our metal buckets for quite some time. They even have re-purposed a Libertonian research facility in Omicron Iota, and have managed to not only keep a Liberty Cruiser running, but to integrate their technology with it. Edit @ Xareck: there's a difference between a hybrid and an infected. Generally, IIRC, hybrids aren't integrated with an incubi. They're connected to the mindshare directly. (Don't quote me on that, I could be wrong). Hybrid RP Chatter - Exile - 09-06-2009 Zapp's right. Hybrids are your sterotypical 'altered humans' straight out of a govnerment conspiracy movie with mad scientists. 'Plug and play Nomads'. They're neither Human or Nomad, but fully linked to the mindshare in a Human form. Grab a Human, jack some hardware into him, screw his brain over and voila! Hybrid ala disc?. So yeah, a Hybrid can talk both ways. Though I'd personaly expect some one who had his entire body and soul screwed over to talk differently from your everyday 'Hithar'. Thanks for the correction. Hybrid RP Chatter - Violette - 09-06-2009 I'd just go with your imagination, they're an entire species, there are bound to be loads of different methods of spreading their influence. Common Sense, is best. Unless you're Silverleaf, then use someone else's common sense. I just go with ***...(text)...*** on my Morph and the same on my strongly infected Battleship when it's in that situation. For less '***' conversation, I just muddle up the words, or speak in riddles. Now THAT explains a lot of your posts in Flood:P /ducks, turns towards Rostock station and hits afterburner... Cpt. Miller, of the BHG|Core vessel "Miller's Draft" Hybrid RP Chatter - Taneru - 09-06-2009 I've found that Hybrids are often lumped together with normal Nomads in the methods in which they speak, and in my opinion, that's a mistake. Even if you're flying a Morph, the thing's made up of mostly energy, isn't it? Surely there'd be a way to adapt a crude neural net relay or comm system to function off the energy of the ship itself. Personally, I never have my hybrid, Observer, refer to himself in the first person. It's always 'This one', 'us', 'ours' or 'we'. Even when flying my morph, I use text messages rather than verbal or psychic transmissions to communicate. To denote this, I simply add "Text Only Transmission", then specify whether it's local band or system-wide, to the front of each phrase. |
