I think that what Verginix put is common sense. Only a fool will fill a ship with missiles. A gunboat full of missiles will run short of energy quick, and, having only missiles, it will not keep a good continuous fire while recharging. A cruiser can exploit that. I was not able to do so in the battle because of the blue cloud interfering with sensors and navigation, and my main target was the liberty cruiser.
Miner ships should not have gunboat turrets. Nor even liners in my opinion. These ships are intended to be transports with better armor and less cargo space than the large train.

I agree with Koolmo. Mounting all missiles is a risk in itself. It can take fighters but as soon as a cap comes along, it can do nothing. That is why serveral different ship types are needed for a successful battle attack/defense. No-one would attack in a battle with only fighters, so there are ways of getting around the missile spamming.

Anohterr point, Harlequinn, ther deLuna is a destroyer, it is not a gunboat. it moves aLOT slower the the Kusari GB does. the Kusari GB can kill a fighter in 5 seconds with this loadout. You can still have a an anti fighter loadout and you dont need missles. on my ship, Roddy&Rita[JammyDodger], I have 1 forward gun, 2 BR's, 3 oder Turrets and 1 Corsair Turret. I consider it an Anti Fighter load out, because, the gunboats turn fast enough to put the BR's to good use against fighters and other GB's.

The thing is, I am msot making this case about gunboats and missles. Cruisers and battleships can use them more since, well, they are so slow and need something to kill fighters with.

F Wolf also has a good point. there is sort of a culture out there, that people want to have a big ship so that they feel big and important. They are forgeting about the RP aspect of everything, especially when it comes to clans. IF you look at most of the clans out there, you see on average, huge ships. If a player in a clna is given a chance to use a bigger ship, they will use it. Even if they keep their fighter character, it will most likly lay forgoten and all you will see is a bunch of capital ships.

This was most evident in what we enncountered today. In out little fleet we had 5 Helghast Fighters, 2 GoR Fighters and 3 Destroyers. The other fleet had three gunboats, 3 miners with gunboat weapons, and three cruisers. they had I think 2 fighters

Whatever there may be, there are many people who agree with me, tehre does need to ahve something done about the capship missles.

Ill make this easy and simple.

I completely agree with Verg, by all means.

Missile spamming is killing the RP PvP in this mod. We got in to PvP and were dead in 5 seconds with missile spam. So yes, this needs to be fixed.

(Should I say something insulting about Misfit........... Ill do it later)

I don't think some one can mounted missle turret only that kind of stupid, Because if you mounted Missile Turret only, you will waste your energy very fast, and refire rate are very slow,and the damage is not high,but the missile turret is only good at use for killing fighters,but only good at killing fighters,A BattleShip mounted Missile Turret Only can't even kill a Gunboat,the missile turret is only use for making cover fire(I think,because I drive BattleShip),if you are a Cruiser using Missile turret can make a "Missile Shield",that's a good way to use it, but still don't mounte too much, 2 missile for a BattleShip is enough, by the way, the missile can't fly 2500m, but the Seeker range is 2500m`````

Okay, I fly fighters and one large train. I actually can't fly cap ships, turret mode makes me dizzy. All i've encountered lately is missile boats and light fighters. It breaks my heart to see this. Most of my fighters are equipped to fight other fighters. I carry no novas or anti matter cannons, mainly because that would be too much against other fighters. And I am, and always have been, against using missiles in a dogfight.

So, do all of us who fly VHF's put them in the boneyard and purchase GB's and LF's? Cause that's the only way we can play/fight right now. I can't stand to put my Raven Claws and Sabres to rest. I won't do it, guess that means you guys can get your kills of me and brag about it. So be it. At least i'll still have fun flying my very heavy fighters.

If it comes to a PvP with a gunboat, i'll just turn my butt around and not deal with it. I don't have enough countermeasures to difuse the amount of missiles coming at me. As to the Light Fighters...damn, talk about getting dizzy:P

Okay, my 2c:


I dont think capships should use all missiles. It ruins the PvP fun for others, and when a big, evil capship comes by, death to misslie spammer. *evil laugh* I think a GB shuld have no more than 2, cruisers no more than 4, and BSs should have 5 or less or then it would be pointless vs capships.

QV: Hint: The GB BRs are not at good use for GBs because they work too badly in comparison with BRs for BSs. My GB has 1 liberty missile turret, 1 forward gun, 3 order turrets, 1 nomad turret, and 2 liberty defense turrets, and I can kill fighters very fast and, with enough skill, can take out a BS.

***I understand they're designed to kill fighters...but as I said before the missiles are too much. Fighters stand absolutely no chance anymore against gunboats...no chance.
