Ok, I've bought it! - Akura - 09-19-2009 I don't honestly think anyone will have any real complaints, if you like the ship and it fits your RP, go for it. It's your fun here, don't let people ruin it. A researcher in a modded Slave Liner is possible, Slave trade is the ships second use: Quote:The first days of mankind's exploration of the Sirius sector employed enormous vessels to traverse the dark spaces between neighboring stars. These large and imposing vessels were extremely utilitarian and provided little in creature comforts, placing instead emphasis on self-sufficiency and the fortitude to endure.Only the last part of the info card actually states their uses in Slave Trade. Before it was just a service ship. Ok, I've bought it! - Quorg - 09-20-2009 You can definitely use the Slave Liner. Read the first part of the infocard it was already a exploration craft not a stretch for a research ship (the Kusari Explorer is used for that purpose.) Personally I thing they should drop the word slave from the name of the ship and just call it a Pilgrim Liner. It would still have the modern reputation of its use for slavers however those who want to use an ancient ship or a shoddily looking ship for their RP can do so. Right now if you try to use it for other uses you get "OLOLO ur a slaver, I pew pew u" occasionally. Ok, I've bought it! - Bass_masta992 - 09-20-2009 Mad Scientist? Ok, I've bought it! - Bear - 09-20-2009 ' Wrote:Mad Scientist? Not at all, just because I wish to use a liner that is now used for slavery doesn't make my character in anyway related to crime or anything else bad. and the Kusari explorer is useless and it looks really...how shall I say...weird. Ok, I've bought it! - Bass_masta992 - 09-20-2009 I'm just saying that's an option. Slave liner is primarily an unlawful ship, but the use of a generic ID can make it veer either way, I suppose. I suppose your right, and it does help having it veer either way because then the authorities have no idea how to treat you and it gets really good RP going. Ok, I've bought it! - Bass_masta992 - 09-20-2009 Or really bad, at times. Some people don't know how to treat things, so they're hostile as a formality. That's why I dropped the AI business. Yes, that could prove to be an issue but what's a little research gonna do? we can't attack unless provoked (ie. self defense). Now all I need is a name and after doing some research came up with the name White Bear. There isn't much info on it but it was a very earlier naval research ship perfect for what I want to do. How do I mark the vessel as a research vessel? I was thinking along the lines of RV-White.Bear, [RV]-White-Bear or something along those lines. note that the RV stands for Research Vessel. any suggestions on this? Ok, I've bought it! - Bear - 09-21-2009 Ok, I went with [RV]-White-Bear. I'm about to buy the ship. If I get any complaints in space that's to bad they had a day to read this and comment. Bear |
