Light Fighter Combat Tactics - tansytansey - 09-21-2009 Depending on how good you are with strafing, and which LF you are using, you can easily dodge enough shots to joust an opponent effectively. It's not always the best tactic, but it's not a bad tactic either. Light Fighter Combat Tactics - MrHeadphones - 09-21-2009 I agree with Nighthawk on the jousting idea, since if you're strafing and fighting a not all that skilled opponent, his aim will be jiggling around all over the place. However, I also have a rather odd tactic which works quite well in larger battles against more experienced players. The thing is, light fighters in laggy conditions are seen as impossible to hit, so people don't bother. I often lower myself to impulse speed and fight like that, since I aim better and most people think "He's in a light fighter, I'm not going after that". However, if someone does try it, go back to thrust and dodge like only a LF can. Then use other people's tactics. Light Fighter Combat Tactics - Ash - 09-21-2009 Something I picked up quite a while ago. Yano how they say don't joust bombers with HFs? Well the same applies but just one step down. Don't joust, or if you cant help it, don't joust much. Keep them in a turning fight, you exploit the HFs slower turning and get some well placed side shots. If you HAVE to joust, try and catch him out and come round onto his flank. Bombers should be a piece of poo. They're just hard nuts to crack that take alot of time and effort. Light Fighter Combat Tactics - Donutman - 09-21-2009 Fletcher, remember the first rule of Liberators and you will be good. NEVER EVER ****ING JOUST IN A LIBBY! Seriously. Never. Joust. Just thrust and strafe like heck and try to stay on his six. Light Fighter Combat Tactics - Drake - 09-22-2009 An idea I recent had and am going to try... In large group fights (like I'm usually involved in with my LF), most of the damage I take generally comes from random mines blowing up near me, or which I hit when I'm turning, or other such unavoidable things. And a single Nuke or Screamer mine (the most common types) drops my little LF shield easy. So, rather than spending a large amount of batts to regen my shield before I randomly hit another mine (such as one dropped by Hobart... *cough*), I'm going to try and mount a rather weak shield instead of the best LF shield possible. The idea is, if I get hit by an explosive or razor or something which instadrops my shield anyway, I'll be able to immediately bring it back up with relatively few batts spent. Just like those annoying NPCs. I'll let you all know how well it works out for me. |
